About the New Airfield SPAA

I mean if you need the airfield in 5 minute matches then either dont leave the ab going constantly or do safer missile launches. In a stock jet with 2 missiles i do agree with you but if you run out of fuel or missiles with a full kit then thats on you. And besides, you having the ability to reload in peace means the flock of premium plebs can hug their shiny aa once they feel threatend. There are 2 points to view the Airfield AA: safely reaming and airfield camping. And in my opinion, not allowing a single dude to stretch the match out, might even “carry” because his team focused bleeding tickets, is far more important than having someone reload in peace

Ultimately, the maps should be expanded atleast to twice their sizes. Stock chaff, decompression, multipath-over-water nerf, overhaul the gameplay and map designs, multiple airfields, then add strong systems like Buk/SAMP to those airfields, SHORAD’s to FARP’s.

Short term, I would like ITO, Strela 10M, and M247, all at the airfield.

I agree on everything but the last point, id say fix the spotting system and it should be fine to rearm with multiple airfields on a huge map

5km the strela is better but the missile can be flared so it kinda depends, Roland has more range

Havent gotten around to see how effective the strela 2s are on the dev server. Are they undefeatable or do they have some of the same weaknesses as the Roland

A good mid level aa system would be the 2s6, from what ive seen on yt its not too OP while being better than roland

I totally agree with adding these anti-aircraft guns in realistic mode. However, in sim mode, you’d have to go up another level. For example:

10.0-11.0: Roland and Guepard (as currently)
11.0-12.0: ITO-90M and York
12.0-13.0: Pantsir
13.0-14.3: Pantsir + CLAWS (or other ~20km + anti-aircraft guns)

Unfortunately, the maps are currently too small to accommodate systems like BUKs or SAMP/Ts, but ideally, these anti-aircraft guns would be needed in top-tier mode.

It is getting worse then.

OK for 10.0 - 12.0 but above should require proxy fused AA and better missiles.

I suggest Lvkv 90 and ITO-90M

this is a great idea actually
gives an additional objective to both teams and gives a possible solution to AF camping

Another thing to note is the lack of improvements made to the rolands missile handling, even the AI is struggling to hit players and by changing the air defence gaijin admits it’s clearly not good enough for even a computer to hit let alone a player. Be nice to see some improvements made to the system over changing it tbh.

AAAs shoots when you are 8km away, that makes a 16km diameter death ball, not to mention that if you play with a 6.0 prop and you have to uptier to 7.0 you face that same death ball going 700 in a dive

Yeah, i managed to do that like 3 times since the missile AAA was introduced, whats the problem? The enemy can just run to the AF and have the convecional AAA

No one is against landing to refuel/rearm/repair, what i am against is the hability of just sit around flying in circles, if you dont want to land and get strafed in the runway, dont make mistakes that may force you to land. EZ

Yes but there missle never reach outside of 4-5km if i remeber correctly and they are quite easy to evade…
