Try and find any information on it…
Even in the conflict this missile has not been seen the 38ML has but not this one.
Is it in service has it been passed for service?
Is it just an idea?
There are also plans to produce one that uses Radar guidance but again we have no information on it.
also dont act like airport camping isnt a thing that doesnt occur in sim, as if you were defenseless, not to mention they are super easy to lock onto and destroy. Gaijin just needs to make airfield AA lock onto slow munitions and shoot them down. If there is enough to brake defenses then some can get through, in similar fashion to the patriot or the iron dome systems. Then everyone can be happy.
I have said multiple times elsewhere on the forums that I think RU suffers in sim (and top tier air in general). Often, I cannot even join a match as ‘Blue team’ because Red is so underpopulated, and when I’ve played red, it sucks.
I really want ‘red’ to get more competitive A2A options to address that.
But what I’m not going to do, is act like just because red currently struggles in A2A, that means they somehow deserve a cruise missile which can be lobbed from the airfield after a brief zoom climb.
It 100% does, and on both sides too. S34’s with their 27ET / KH38 are incredibly effective at doing it.
then why arent you more vocal about the f15E doing exactly that?
And why do you not acknowledge how easy it was to shoot down the grom 1 in the test server?
GBU-39’s are useless against bases. They’re only effective against the static ground battles, and to be used effectively against them you’ve got to get within like <20km. It actually needs to put itself in harms way to use its gimmick - Grom-1’s do not require that. That was my whole point.
My concern is not about hitting enemy AF, it’s about hitting enemy bases - and the ticket bleed it causes.
I also imagine this is the snails concern, as it’s low risk high reward gameplay, and this is likely why they removed it. Not because of anyone complaining, but because they don’t want people earning easy RP/SL.
It doesn’t matter how long it takes to reach the base in sim, because you take off, launch, land, rearm, and repeat. The missiles impact will stagger well against the useful actions timer.
except they arent. name 1 red force aircraft that can climb to 15km and bvr to kill the f15e? Are we pretending that this last week the f15e spam hasnt been winning matches in under 30 minutes? That we have players getting 25THOUSAND points with NO DEATHS? Are we really going to lie and say the f15e is in harms way with 8 aim120s strapped to it while bombing bases and ground unit objectives with complete immunity?
The su34 could not carry a full complement of groms and AA missiles. The f15e can.
Except there are faster ways anyway with less risk, just not in russia…
And again, completely ignoring the fact you can shoot groms down. 11 minutes to most bases is enough to time to complete multiple objectives, engage in a bvr or dogfight, and just shoot them down on the way home from combat.
But again, i think the bases and airfields need some anti missile defense anyway.
I believe the grom1 shouldnt have been removed, and that a point of learning how to shoot them down and add small amounts of base and airfield anti missile protection would have solved every problem.
They are not OP, people are just lazy, I acknowledge the concern of them being too little risk vs reward, and thats why they shouldnt be a guaranteed hit with the anti missile installments.
Also, we can all agree gaijin needs to overall ALL of the air game modes and introduce something new, weve had the same air RB since 2013, and air sim since what, about 2016?
Again, I repeat what I said to you earlier, the wider balance of top tier is completely irrelevant to my original comment which you quoted out of context.
You are putting arguments in my mouth that I am not even making. You are acting like I’m claiming F-15E dominating is fine, when literally nowhere have I said this, and I’m actively agreeing with you that that’s a real, albeit separate issue to the one this thread is centered on.
There is no reward for missile interception - therefore absolutely zero incentive for anyone to waste their AMRAAMS to do this.
Asking people to put the team ahead of their own personal economics, in a game as grindy as Warthunder, is never going to work out well.
Besides, players are too busy focusing on other players. Spending the game playing Grom-whackamole is just asking to get a 27ET sent up your exhaust lol.
