About removing loader bonuses from expert/aced crew training

at the very least ACE should be removed (or chanced to act like a talisman, increasing rewards rather than buffing crew skills) and the base reloads should be improved so the difference between a “stock crew” and an expert one is smaller. I don’t have a problem with small bonuses from crew skills, but I do think currently they make far too much difference in performance.
And things like “keen vision” where enemies literally don’t render client side with out it is straight up BS.

As far as I am concerned, removing the ability to buy ace without having played the vehicle would be good enough. Leave the options at 50% and 75%.

toptier is not the only way to play yknow

my magachs still dont have the maxed out reload even though ive reached 9.7 already

is it that much to ask to have a competitive reload time?

No but they want you to pay for it, simple as.
Also, repair speed difference between full and Ace crew is something that’ll kill you regularly. Having your stuff repaired like 10s faster is a big deal people often forget.

just remove crew skills altogether

There should ideally be no crew skills.

I’ve legit lost kill opportunities using my 4.0 La-5Fn because my pilot blacked out doing the same maneuver I do with casual ease in the P-51C (turning at 500-600 km/h). Difference: P-51C is maxed crew. La-5Fn is like 2/1 G/stamina without expert because I dont usually fly russia. Also ran into this issue in my Ta 152 H-1 (while I play a lot of germany, my Bf line and Fw line are separate crew slots and the Fw line is fairly low level).

This makes branching out and flying multiple nations a major headache.

Wishful thinking, isn’t it ?

I would honestly remove the Ace option, as it requires an excessive number of matches with the same tank or paying real money, which you need to do to get the tank with its full performance capabilities. What should be done is that simply setting the crew to expert and maxing out their skill level would grant you the vehicle’s best performance.

+1 wish they overhaul the crew point system

The Stock-Aced difference should be much shorter (max 10% difference)

The current system is from a time before autoloaders were prevelant and it means that it doesn’t take balance against autoloaders into consideration

The entire crew skill system needs to be completely overhauled to make it more fair. This is a good start though

It is quite funny how a stock crew gunner cannot move the joystick diagonally for modern MBTs (targeting skill)

Its funny that you cant hear people due to having too low of a keen vision level.

Or not being able to see a guy infront of you because your keen vision skill is too low

Imagine if we could do this for Modifications RP. Stock Grind would never be something people complain about again. Hell, I’d accept it just fine if this feature were restricted only to active premium account, given it would be a “very helpful but not actually essential nor gameplay-breaking perk.”

I fondly remember my early days in WT when G forces blacked the screen out but did not affect plane controllability, I really wish the game would go back to that. Control Loss is one major reason why I have limited interest in jets as a whole - if I am not using the undisputed fastest machine available in a BR range then why even bother playing much in that area if your pilot is blacking out every other maneuver?

I have most nations’ air crews at near-max or maxed level G tolerance and Stamina and it STILL pisses me off on many an occasion.

In an ideal world, I’d take that stance as well. But knowing the game needs some degree of monetization, it is only realistic enough to ask War Thunder’s development team to just remove reload stats from the trainings, as its a core element of their balancing decisions.

I keep reading these complaints about crew skill.

When I won the little chinese event plane a few days ago, the day round 5 started (27th of December 2025), I bought an extra chinese crew and used it for round 5 and 6 of the air event as well as grinding the chinese Gazelle. The (air)crew which I just bought is now on level 30, can expert up to rank 6 and is already maxed in the reload skill. In 2 days! I don’t think it is such a big issue.

Edit:
During stages 5-10 of the event (December 27th to Jan 6th), that crew did rise to level 55 air crew. Reload is maxed, one rank 2 plane aced.

from what I recall it’s far less crew points required for air crew to increase reload skill
tanks also require you to max out the Leadership skill which is also not cheap on crew points

it also doesn’t help that RB still earns far less crew points than AB, compound that with the lower RP earned in tanks, crew points will be getting split around the lineup if you’re playing RB…

it could be better

First of all, and before getting further, you realize this is a ground-related topic, right? Albeit ground vehicles demand slightly less experience for its respective loader crew, the proper XP earned per battle is way less than Air, resulting on being way steeper than air reload speed, not to mention you have to spend crew xp between every single crew member to make the tank/vehicle work somewhat decently.

But then to get the best reload on any ground vehicle, not only you need to get lvl 5 on loading: If you don’t have an autoloader, you must buy the expert crew and grind their ace, or just buy the ace directly, spending GE, while several ground nations already have autoloaders at top tier, bypassing the need to train an expert crew to gain that competitive edge.

Air reload is actually the second most expensive of all the crew skills.

The crew isn’t done. But I am not forced to channel the skill points into air. I could have maxed Leadership for tanks instead. My point isn’t that the crew is perfect. But after two days, I can use it for jets, as I can buy expert now.

You realize that you can earn ground crew xp any way you like?
