It can probably carry a gun pod. The F-35B and F-35C can at least
yea gun pods I forgot about those but it may change stealth a bit depends on how its modeled in game
A gunpod for the J-20 does not exist
Funny thing about that. They are coded in such a way that they only turn the radar off when the arm is locked, almost like the arm is sending out a signal to the radar itself… Instead of the other way around. So if the radar gets turned back on and the arm relocks, the SAM somehow KNOWS that and turns the radar off again. It is the omniscience of all of the ai that makes the mode suck.
They need to only shoot things that the radar can pick up. If its not pinged by radar, then it doesnt exist. M163s need to only shoot when they get lock.
Yeah the accuracy of the SPAA’s ability to intercept munitions is way too high. I pretty frequently see 2s6s shooting Aster 30s out of the sky WITH THEIR GUNS. And the ITOs intercepting S300 missiles. I have even seen a 2s6 intercept a tow missile from one of the bradleys on the ground lmao.
Hopefully this will get a bit better when they do the full implementation of munition RCS like they said would happen by the end of the year.
In reality its more like:
“If you launch any ARM (including western ones) at emitting target at >30ish km it will miss 100% of the time and you cant do anything about it”.
It becomes flooded with short range AA only when you have entire team of clowns unwilling to do anything about it. Even two-three people focusing on clearing frontlines of convoys is enough to keep those numbers at bay, while also racking funny amount of score from all the tanks destroyed.
GBU-53/Spice250 and as long as you have clear line of sight and enough altitude, you can put their 100km lock range to work.
Shotgun them within 25km to bypass radar-off self defense trick.
UPAB-50S, Russian equivalent of GBU-39, maybe 53 if there are sekrit dokuments about IR/TV seekers for those. Then ask Gaijin to conjure quad racks for Su-34/30SM/30SM2 and suddenly you get 24 of those to respond in kind. In game files sit unused “KAB-50TV” and KAB-50S" which seems to be similar to other small glide bombs, but in current state have cripplingly short guidance time at 60s.
You can also find other Russian ordnance within 150kg weight, as this seems to be the threshold below which bomb/missile is considered low observable - heaviest is Spice250 at 130kg.
i think long range S-300s should go they are completely locking down altitude game play as no one ever plays high its so annoying
The S-300s are pretty easy to deal with. What planes/nation are you using?
There’s no contradiction here… Shaking off the s300 isn’t a problem, but here it’s about having the rwr spammed and climbing being always more pointlessly burdensome and limited.
People rarely climb is a fact. Note that there’s more than tt bracket.
The same issue also exists for the red side. The SAMP/Ts use fox-3 missiles which they can spam at everything, and they are also a bit harder to kill. On the other hand, the missiles have much worse range so they can be defeated by doing pretty much anything other than flying straight. However, a missile that is hanging in the air with no energy left is still locking you, so it keeps alerting your RWR until the missile hits the ground or runs out of battery and explodes. So often times you will have 8 different missiles on your rwr that don’t have the energy to reach you, and that drowns out the one missile launched from an F-15 in the stratosphere that will reach you.
And in my experience, with time you tend to learn which launch warnings are actually on you, vs which ones are just on a nearby teammate.
In my experience playing blue side, the S-300s get wiped out within 20-30 minutes in each match, and a lots of people do fly high once that happens, because there really is no reason not to.
Yeah I personally don’t play NE below 13.7, or I guess 14.0 now with the BR changes.
so just a BVR and mid range intresting
For S-300 the radar floods everyone’s RWR with launch warnings but from what I found flying at altitude before destroying the SAMs that beyond 70km you can safely ignore it and even as close as ~50km it is still likely launching on an ally that is in front of you. Obviously it takes some game sense + trial and error to figure out but climbing is still incredibly important for maintaining strong CAP coverage + SEAD + safer nuke delivery.
Thats why I dropped playing reds, this crap is actually headache-inducing. At some point I just started counting the times when I was NOT in “launched-at” state, and turns out those were in single digits over the whole 40-50min games.
And constantly dealing with literally “the boy who cried wolf” behaivour from my own rwr is just not what I enjoy.
not sure why gaijin implemented the speed gate functionality that self destructs a missile if it gets too slow if it doesn’t really work (that and missiles being extremely unstable at low speeds anyways)
What’s your RWR sensitivity at?
I feel like there also is an unbalance between the Buk on one side and the Hawk on the other, since the hawk batteries will just turn their radar off making it almost impossible to destroy with Alarms and other missiles with non working IOG
@BVV_d can we expect helicopters being introduced into nuclear escalation in the near future?
15%. Doesn’t seem to do anything about launch warnings, which are the main problem.
