About Nuclear Escalation and the Bomber Damage Model by BVV_d

Takes more effort to kill a SAMP/T with Kh-31s than it takes any aircraft with GBUS.

Then the RCS on small diamater bombs should be adjusted or more supressive SPAA to not make runs that easy.

It is. Stay out its 10+km range, drop 2 bombs per 2s6, guaranteed every time since they detect it far too late.

Su-34 is a dedicated ground attacker, but low and behold it can’t carry the load the F-15E can, it can’t stay in the fight as long, and it damn well has no low rcs munitions too speak of.

The removed Grom-1s wouldn’t change anything, and when you only have 6 shots, you have to make them count, meanwhile anything with a load of GBUS isn’t under that pressure

That’s a funny joke. If there are still any S-300s up, going higher than 100m is a guaranteed death sentence. It doesn’t matter if it is all the way on the opposite side of the map from you. If you go high, you will get domed by a mach 6 telephone pole within 1-1.5 minutes max. Meanwhile the SAMP/T can be dodged by doing anything but flying straight into the missile. And it can also be notched, which the S-300 can’t be. Meanwhile the majority of aircraft fighting the Pantsir can’t even see its tracking radar on RWR. So if it launches at you, the only way of knowing that is by either seeing the launch or having MAW.

Absolutely not. If you think SAMP/Ts are annoying to fight, try a missile with 2-3x the effective range, the ability to fling 1000 missiles at anything you throw at it, and the ability to function without its search radar because every launcher still has its own radar.

It needs 4 bombs each to actually get a guaranteed kill, not 2, especially if you are not dropping it from up close. When you drop it from outside its max range, it still has enough time to see them and intercept 2-3 bombs the majority of the time.

The answer to any of this isn’t to buff the Russian side AA. It is to swap the ITO out for something else. Like the ADATS, since that is really the only thing with similar missile kinematics to the 2s6. Or hell even the FlaRakRad would work, since despite using the same missiles, it has to reload after 2 shots, so you would be able to take it out with 3 missiles/bombs max.

Then use other munitions…? KH-38s are pretty easy to use and I have seen them kerb stomp SAMP/Ts many times.

no.

How do you intend on hitting a moving target from >10km with enough speed to make that shot connect without exposing yourself to strategic SAMs? Not feasibly possible to continually do all game.

Ok.

People have just been climbing into space going on suicide runs knocking out S-300s at the start of matches… the telephone pole is fast but more often than not, the S-300s get knocked out on average much faster than SAMPT sites do.

Definitely needs to be done

It would help if red players actually did any semblance of air to ground. I either see them with ~30 kills within the first 15 minutes of the game or they sit with zero air to ground kills.

Red teams being utterly flooded with premium Su30s isn’t doing them many favours either.

Yeah in my experience, most matches have at least 75% of the Russian team spamming 13.3 premium flankers, and the majority of those are just playing it like ARB but with respawns, then spamming nukes at everything once they become available.

Yep. My fiancée is able to get ~20 kills most NE games, most of which end up being premium Su-30s…

You act like I haven’t done that. I’ve used Kh-38Mts, Mls, Kh-31s, a combo of both. Close range, far range, doesn’t matter. Most times they get intercepted and you have to put in more work on average than anything GBUS to wipe them out. That is my point, it doesn’t change how easy it is to knock them out. I rather use Kh-31s than 38s because the 31s are faster, and usually you want the faster munition, not the slower one.

4 bombs? If you’re targeting 2s6 at depots, you can easily drop 2 per launcher, and most times knock out all 3. If you’re launching within it’s range and it sees you, then it also detects the bombs. I always launch them outside the range and lob them, 14-15kms and they always make it.

Fair enough, though given it’s top tier, I wouldn’t want to see the regression of technology ethier. That’s why I opted for more difficulty rather than nerfing any current munitions.

It’s already in a threat environment that is lacking hugely important features such as EW and RCS reduction on aircraft lmao

I’ve been in matches where they do, they simply just get beaten out by Strike Eagles. You have to put in an insame amount of work and have some insane luck to even get 48 or 40 kills or maybe even 38 on average in any Russian aircraft. Given your limited hardpoints

You know Strike Eagles are usually pretty easy kills right lmao

What? It doesn’t matter if they are or aren’t.

I’m talking about capibiltiy here.

The inability of a red player to conceive of the notion that maybe if they don’t want their shit to get carpet bombed they should shoot down the carpet bombers is not a balancing problem.

You can apply this logic to literally any aircrat, this means nothing, especially when the majority of BLUE aircraft can carry small diamater bombs…

Blow up the SAMP/T and blow up the strike eagles and the majority of your complaints go away. Both of these are pretty easy things to do.

The Itos could do with a slight nerf though for definite.

I don’t care how many Strike Eagles you blow up, or any aircraft for that matter. There is always another, this is a task easier said than actually done.

Same with the SAMP/Ts, it’s a lottery with them. No kidding that your mention about the S-300s from earlier also go away once majority are nuked at the start of most games… so… what wre we trying to say here.

That is pretty much the complete opposite of what I experience. If I don’t drop AT LEAST 3 per 2s6 on the depots, they all get intercepted the vast majority of the time. And even with doing just 3, they can still intercept them all 30-50% of the time because somehow the 1980s radar that can’t even see up that high can tell which bombs are going for it, and which aren’t, so they don’t get distracted trying to intercept bombs going for the depot or the other 2s6s.

Also I feel like it should be mentioned that if you go to any of the other brackets below 13.3 the script completely flips. The BUK-M1s completely outclass the I-HAWK in both speed, range and maneuverability. And they can still operate without the search radar because every launcher has it’s own radar. Then the OSAs again completely outclasses the Roland 1 on the NATO side in speed, range, and maneuverability. And on top of that, unless you are in an A-10C, the Russian side has much better a2g munitions. And there are even aircraft that still outclass the A-10C (mainly the SU-39). The only thing that the USA team has going for it is that there is a single premium aircraft that has JSOWs you can use to take out their long range SAMs as easily as most Russian team aircraft can.

I didn’t complain about the S-300. I in fact said that they should be moved further back to bolster their survivability, as should the SAMP/T.

Yes, like every aircraft. Funny.

I can usually reliably kill them so long as the 2S6 keeps its interest in me. Usually just fly approximately 10km away and they’ll only spot them when they’re too late. They’ll go for anything larger than an SDB pretty reliably though.
