About Nuclear Escalation and the Bomber Damage Model by BVV_d

So cool!

I notice there is no comment on the ludicrous interception rates. Let alone the low alt tracking.

If you’re talking of the TBMs, I did not notice Tochka’s warhead modeled. At least not remotely close to what one would consider functionally accurate.

Frankly entire thing’s an exercise in frustration and whilst I am fond of ground attack, you barely get the opportunity to engage with it between the obscene interception rates, crotales appearing from the aether, and other players focusing on air to air. Almost better off just getting a long range map in RB than engaging with escalation. Pretty rubbish.

These are longer term considerations and ideas. They are not at a stage where we can give spesific details at this time, as they are still just ideas. Not 100% confirmed to come at this time.

There isn’t many but in more recent times there are weapon systems being developed for some cargo aircraft mostly in the form of Palletised Munitions.

The USAF C-17A and MC-130J fleet are being equipped with Rapid Dragon which is able to launch up to 45x and 12x AGM-158 JASSM stealth cruise missiles respectively. Also able to deploy JDAM-ER however the exact amount hasn’t been stated, this system is actually supposed to be in service sometime in 2027. The MC-130J should also be capable of dropping the infamous MOAB as it should retain the ability from the MC-130’s before it.

Japan is also looking at Rapid Dragon for their Kawasaki C-2’s, however specifics on this aren’t known as of yet.

Brazil and Embraer are looking into deploying Barracuda-500M cruise missiles from their K/C-390 aircraft, this is still very early in development though so specifics are not yet known.

Germany and Airbus are looking into a “mothership” modification to the A400M which would be capable of launching a large drone swarm or “up to 12 Taurus sized munitions”.

Whilst not being palletised munitions Russia does have the IL-76MD which can carry a limited armament of 4 externally mounted bombs totalling 2,000kg on wing pylons and is armed with a tail mounted defensive turret.

France is also looking into modifications for their A400M fleet however nothing specific is known apart from it being referred to as a “gunship mode”.

And obviously there are also other specialised versions such as those that have been modified as maritime patrol aircraft like Italy’s C-37J MPA, and gunship variants such as the AC-130 lineand KC-130J Harvest Hawk in American service, and Italy’s MC-27J Praetorian.

Antonovs since 1950s had these transporters for bombs

if thats a modification kit then no, that would have to be a different MI28 otherwise.

Going of the Israeli report who tracks Russian modification upgrades due to Ukraine conflict, they dont mention this particular section as being anything for LDIRCM or drone countering. they do point out other changes outlined here Link

So im not convinced that section on the nose is a LDIRCM module. its also very different to the one found on the underbelly of the Helicopter so they cannot be both the same, otherwise it would have been picked up like the other modifications have so I’m unsure if what you are showing is even a LDIRCM sensor and not something else.

Will planes with mainly IR guided glide bombs receive the ability to be cued to the general location of sam sites through their RWRs, F-15e, F-15i, JAS-39e etc, then release the bombs in search mode towards the general location of to the sam sites (they are capable of target differentiation once close enough IRL ). When will western jets also receive passive esm? This is extremely needed for those jets relying on guide bombs to find and attack sams, because fighters that don’t have any ARMs are much more unergonomic to play in nuclear thunder than fighters that do.

Will targetting pods and optical seekers also have this aggressive mechanic removed that forces the camera down to 30km when 1. the seeker is first slaved to a target further than 30km, 2. the camera is moved? GPS and laser designating can be disabled past 30km, but letting the pods and seekers maintain stabilization is a huge bonus to spotting targets

EUmKT9sX0AICpDv~2

Its the same as the Su57

And as you can see, theres nothing to do with the ECM suite you showed on the link,as it can still be seen even without the new ECM antennas
Edit:i wouldnt mind seeing a new Mi28 to research bringing the new top nose laser, but i know for sure ppl would cry because it prob would come with new izd 305 УД and if helis get added to NE with S8000 too i hope

This. The area between all of these targets needs to be more spread. You have a huge map in the middle of nowhere and all of the AA being stacked is too much heat, especially when the close range ones get aimbot.

Also another thing I’d mention is because of how short the matches are, you can’t really feel the front line progressing. At best 30mins in, your side has taken some first row of bases. Then the match ends.

INCREASE THE TICKETS!

Weren’t the strategic bombers made for this purpose? Why are those still removed? Also currently the games feel too short for a proper RB EC experience. During the first NE event, having the team bomb the back most airfield to win the game was a better experience and felt like you were pushing the enemy back like a proper battle. That was the epic feel. Currently the main airfield is just a dud. No one spawns there and no one goes to bomb it.

A “faster conclusion” isn’t great for a mode that’s scratching the itch for a strategic mode players have been asking for. This shouldn’t become ARB where a match is instant. People should either be allowed to opt out or then go play the fast modes that already exist for them.

These new additions sound great though. Working on gamemodes is a much better direction than quickly moving into 5th gens and just adding every aircraft when gameplay would still be stale. Cough. Ground.
Helicopters will be interesting. Hopefully it’s possile to strike a balance where they feel like they’re useful instead of going kilometers to the front then dying to a SAM. Maybe adding AI infantry targets that helicopters can shoot down on?

If LDIRCM will shoot one missile at a time, will this depend on a number of lasers available on a vehicle?

Will Mi-8-amtsh-vn be actually better than mi-28nm then?

I’m not sure about missiles, but the AGM-154 JSOW has a cluster warhead IRL.

arent they interchangeable?

if i remember correctly it can have either a normal warhead or a cluster one

the one we have specifically has a stink normal he warhead irl

there is a reason gaijin actually bothered to put the A1 there

I believe the base AGM-154 had a cluster warhead, and the AGM-154A-1 had a traditional warhead.

I wonder, with all these aircraft changes, will we ever get helicopter damage model rework? So they won’t drop out the sky when you shred their empty transport cabin with 7.62

And also they have real armor which doesn’t work. It stops a bullet, but the damage to the fuselage still occurs.

Would the addition of AI columns or defensive positions requesting “Air Support” or in the case of Advancing columns/assault squads requesting “Ground Suppression or Combat Air Patrol”?

This might assist with immersion further as well as squad members co-ordination level increasing. Rather than just listening to my RWR pinging constantly from start of game to finish.

I think it would also help the team from not continuing the same engagement/path over and over.

Please add nukes to tech tree vehicles (and restrict their use in other gamemodes).

Currently, nuke carriers are hard targeted by the entire enemy team, for obvious reason. If tech tree vehicles were allowed to carry them, you wouldn’t know which vehicles had them (besides knowledge of loadouts) and would be required to defend your airfields in a realistic manner.

This would allow nuke carriers some breathing room, and so I think this would also allow their SP cost to be increased.

the 101KC-O unit or whatever its called does differ from the one currently on the MI28NM which is this:

Spoiler

So its clearly going to have different characteristics to the current one found on the MI28NM vs what this one does, so realistically a new TT heli would make sense. While I agree it would be a pain for researching, I mean considering how powerful LDIRCM is and even if they fix it to work accurately, its still going to be a substantial jump just giving it a nose sensor vs just one underneath as this would increase lethality and survivability even in game if deadzones/reaction times are modelled if we go of BVVDs reply to my comment.

So personally new TT would be the better option as it could also warrant different BRs or different weapon systems etc. if they wanted to go that route.

I dont mind it being added but just adding it as modification would then call into question AH64s and AH60s getting DIRCM as a kit because it could be retrofitted on the pylons so honestly new TT is easier and safer

I just hope they actually model LDIRCM to actually work like lasers and not just a bubble forcefield that can jam 10 missiles at once.
