Question: Why is the M18 GMC battle rating at BR 6.0? Shouldn’t it be like BR 5.7? Unless if there is something special about it.
No idea
absolutely no idea
Gajin moved it up to screw over American players and break up their 5.7 lineup.
It was moved up because it is arguably better than the T-34-85 at 5.7.
It’s also just a decent tank in general, and players performed well in it.
Very fast tank with a decent gun that fights things much slower than it. It’s a flanker’s wet dream.
it used to be 5.7 if i remembered correctly but they moved it up to 6.0 and gave it more powerful engine (historical engine, the engine at 5.7 was nerfed). I think its a decent change because the new engine is noticeably better in term of acceleration and made flanking a bit easier
Hey I was a make a wish kid. It twas awesome!!!

hey, well done on surviving, what was the wish if you don’t mind us asking
used to be 5.7 but they moved it up to 6.0 cause it was too good
What Gajin has to do is make the BR system adaptive, each match for your vehicle should be in a fixed BR range and depending on factors like map, teammates vehicles opponent vehicles should scale within the range accordingly. By scaling each match would be competitive but not unfair or too bad. (sorry for the potentially bad grammar I have to translate this because I do not speak english natively)
Depends which one are we talking about the speedy 90mm death machine or the 76mm?
TT one is 6.0 I think the premium one (don’t have it) is still 5.7 (I THINK, may be wrong)
I think it’s the other way around. I will check the TT real quick and tell my findings.
The TT 90mm M18 is 5.3 arcade 6.0 rb and sb. the M18 black cat is same Br brackets.
but the black cat has the 76mm which to me means it can go 4.8-5.0 rb
I never liked the M18. No clue why it was moved to 6.0. I never remember any player with high kills in a game using an M18. They are just too fragile, so they are easily killed by fighters or SPAA.
I don’t see how a T-34-85 with a better cannon and good all around armor would be in any way inferior to an M18.
I feel like the only reason they were moved up is because of win rates. If they cap first and then the rest of the team secures the cap, the enemy is already in a disadvantage, since when they die they can come back in a plane faster than any tank can reach the cap.
They can scout and when killed spawn a P-47 or some other US fighter-bomber and take out 3 King Tigers with bombs.
Comparing a medium tank to a light tank is kinda goofy anyways.
It moved up to 6.0 when it received the new engine. I mean its fine at 6.7 with the lineup but i do miss it at 5.7, regardless it honestly does really well on maps like European province since it can get to some nice spots before others. The prem 90mm m18 never received the engine that the TT and other M18 received so it stays at 6.0 as its heavier and has a weaker engine in exchange for a stronger gun. All in all it was a fair exchange but it does kinda suck that it was removed from 5.7
It’s a highly mobile vehicle with a good gun. It moved up because it’s strong and performs well.
