I’m sure its been a topic ad nauseam. Lets be honest though. If people didn’t have to be concerned with repair costs they might just stick out a match instead of bailing when it goes tits up. I certainly would. It would mean the difference of making credits instead of losing credits. A one sided game is always going to create this issue. So remove the repair cost and more players are likely to stick it out.
Gaijin what do you have to loose by trying this method? If it doesn’t work you can roll it back. Try something different.

It’s not repairs that are the issue, it’s buying and crewing vehicles. More specifically crewing, and I personally hate the crewing system, but I’ll try and get on this afternoon and see what changes were made in the update.
Not entirely sure what the purpose of repair costs is, unless a round involves you just dying and getting nothing done at all you end up with at least some gains.
Promoting box gambling by having that be the main use for SL would make more sense, you are not using that money for new mods and vehicles very often anyways due to how slow the grind is. Overall the system is a bit of a mess, which is probably caused by company management trying to fit 2 blocks in the same hole at the same time
The SL/Min thing confuses me, if you want players to do better, make its price of repair decrease in the more time you spend in your in the vehicle, not the other way around.
Some still do but it’s far far FAR more relaxed than it was before.
Compared to how it used to be, it’s a whole helluva lot harder these days to not make and maintain SL. I say this even as someone who maybe touches the game for a couple matches a week.
A good game in my F8F with 3 kills nets ~7-9K silver lions. If I die, repair cost is 3150.
I’m yet to spade my F82E, but I killed 2 planes in it last match and it only got me 7K silver lions. It costs 6K to repair once I lose my free repairs.
Cost of F82E is ~270K to buy and crew. Most planes after F8F cost 200-300K to buy and crew.
So, with F8F some miraclous way managing 3 kills each match, I need 100 games to afford a tier 4 plane if I need to repair each match. Given how in air RB, you can get hit with teams that only care about ground targets, it’s likely you’ll die a number of games without any kills or only a single kill.
We havn’t spoken about experting crews, which are stupidly expensive. I dunno how much the F82 will cost me, but P63 cost me 100K.
The only way I afford new planes in air RB in a reasonable time frame is british ground battles, because there you can make 10-13K/battle while repair cost is only 2000 or so.

And I don’t think it’s reasonable to expect more than 2-3 kills/match in air RB, and even that’s only going to be like 5-6 players out of 15 on a given team who will achieve that. I’ve had games where my team was competent enough all around that other than the bombers, everyone had at least 1 kill. Sure, assists help some but they’re kind of unreliable especially since only 1 person can get credit apparently (I have put planes on fire only to receive no assist for it when it was blown up by getting dived by multiple teammates and introduced to a laser dance party.)
Sure, you don’t lose SL, but you barely make any.
Now, I probably do suffer more than I could by trying to play U.S air, british air, british ground and german ground concurrently so getting lineups and tiers unlocked kills my wallet.
What if crew cost was tied to vehicle rank? And to get it’s the (lowest crew cost of rank + highest crew cost)/2, then multiply by 0.8
L = lowest crew cost of rank, H = highest crew cost of rank. (L+H)/2 * 0.8 = new rank based cost
