The likely scenario will be an EJ Kai late with AIM-7MH and AAM-3 while leaving the current EJ Kai as is. Perhaps we see other experimental equipment like XGCS-2 or AAM-4 as mentioned in the one book.
The problem is that on aam-3 there is no publicly available data or even video with its use, so now it is almost a copy of aim-9m. and snails have no real data, so the settings are whatever the gaijin wanted.
Аnd in general, snails can enter anything with any parameters, but it’s not so extremely difficult to prove it. if there is no accurate data on the network.
If it’s any consolation, DMM has been working on this missile since 2019 and they have worked with the JASDF before to obtain information for the game. That said I doubt they got too many hard numbers but I’m sure they gathered all they could on the missile during these last few years.
My first impression of the AAM-3’s are not all too great guys… They still seem to wobble a lot during flight and they only really seem better than the AIM-9M’s in a rear aspect due to the low drag. It is still the first day, so they can still grow on me. but I though I could share my initial impression.
It’s interesting how War Thunder depicts the Japanese AAM-3 missile with a speed of Mach 2.5 while its real-life counterpart boasts Mach 3.5. These discrepancies between simulation and reality can impact gameplay dynamics. Additionally, the similarity between AAM-3 and the Python 3 missile raises questions about balancing in-game attributes. Discussions within the gaming community often revolve around achieving realism without sacrificing enjoyable gameplay. What are your thoughts on these discrepancies?
I also attached a link with all the necessary information to prove that the AAM-3 is capable of mach 3.5: https://www.forecastinternational.com/samples/F659_CompleteSample.pdf
They won’t take a single secondary source as evidence for that if you’re looking to change it. If you can find two secondary sources, or better yet a primary source, then perhaps they’ll look at that.
Personally im not sure if i trust forecast
For whatever it’s worth the AAM-5 is only Mach 3.0 so I’m more inclined to believe the AAM-3 is closer to Mach 2.5 than 3.5
I am having a way better experience with 9M than AAM-3s.
Congrats Gaijin, AAM-3s are a complete downgrade from 9Ms
I personally disagree- only because I enjoy the harder pull of the AAM-3’s and because the drag is lower, even with the annoying wiggle it can do sometimes the missile is still liable to chase someone down better than a 9M overall
GOD YES.
it’s a phantom at 11.7, 9L is insufficient
It certainly may be underperforming compared to its irl performance, but it is better than the 9M in most every way even if its only slightly better. You can check the files if you’d like but it shouldn’t be worse.
Sounds like you’re just getting some pretty unfortunate luck with them.
That is some BS, me and my friends confirmed this because the IRCCM of the AAM-3s are not even close to AIM-9M. It gets flared off way easier from horizontal and rear.
As the AAM-3 got implemented as part of update 2.33 Air Superiority,
Moved to Implemented Suggestions. o7
