AA missile looses track when heli lands, why?

I have no valid data regarding the reality, but i think if an AA missile is in air and its locked on the Helo with heatseeker, it should not loose track if the heli lands. I mean the engine will not cool down that fast. If it is radar lock, i dont know, possible then. What do you think?

IR missiles shouldnt lose lock unless LOS is obstructed

If it lands radar missiles cant tell it apart from a building and loses lock, as for heatseeker my guess is that the engine cooling coupled with the much lower contrast that the seeker will be seeing makes it hard for it to track, especially if the heli also flares a couple times. But maybe someone knows more in depth why a heatseeker would lose the lock, not a 100% sure on that one

Next time it happens, post a server replay. We can better understand what might be happening.

Didnt he just flared?

OK to specifiy the incidents i experience:

If i use the iris-t there are those heli pilots that i lock on, fire the missle, the missle switches to heatseeking as the heli is closer then 10 km and than it lands. With the landing it dissapears from radar and the missile looses heat seeking and flys over the position where the heli is. Then the heli starts again, appears at the position where it vanished.

I often get destroyed then by the heli or sometimes before it lands by its missiles and i can observe the landing process. Very often those guys doing that directly over the heli start base.

Heli IRCCM?

A replay link would help a lot.

That can take some time, as i dont have the replay avaible, so i have to wait untill it happens again. But its very common if i shoot at helis with the iris-t, seems to be a tactic.

Pantsir still kills me with my wheels on the ground behind a hill in Apache… yet Apache radar doesn’t work.

It should que 128 targets in a 90 degree scan sector. Does it do it? = No.
