Rain? Nah bro gepard still 4-5km range
Smog ,yup, you got it , 4-5km range. With accurate tracking!
Meanwhile me holding on for dear life in a 8.0 - 8.7 helicopter trying to guide anything with 80% less visibility.
My point is, these early radar tracking anti air systems didn’t have any doppler filtering or any modern aids to make it work good in rain or any kind of weather effect . Their range should drop by some. I’m not saying they should be nerfed to the ground in rain or anything, but their range should drop.
To be honest, when there are clouds and basically anything that reduces visibility, I don’t spawn an aircraft if I know I’ll see nothing. And yes, we need something done with the SPAA situation.
Heli TOW missiles have at least 12KM range, the highest raned NATO AA-missile at that low BR has 9km range and locks helis at no more than 5km under ideal circumstances
I would assume this is in reference to AI SPAA in gamemodes like ARB/ASB/Heli pve, but it isn’t clear. If it is, then nerfs are actually warranted because they have aimbots that can shoot through terrain
You got that wrong, the terrain has no hit detection for missiles, gunfire or similar. Because for some reason gaijin decided that ever object needs multiple layers of hitbox all with different effects instead of one with toggleable effects.
So if they want the ground to be a solid object for bullets, missiles as well as vehicles all the corresponding hitboxes need to be there. just because a vehicle can drive on it does not mean you can not shoot through it.
… dude are you ok? The maps do have hitboxes ar else player missiles and shots would go straight through it (they don’t) your the one wrong in this case and honestly seems like you’re trying to rage bate and no, they didn’t nerf anything the tows range is the same as its been for at least 2 years, your probably thinking of another kind of missile
First of, no my statement is correct. There are tons of mountains missiles can pass right through on multiple air maps. The issue became famous when in one patch, after they introduced hight limits for certain missile tracking systems, people noticed how they could fly through mountains but missiles exploded upon impact, because Gaijin screwed up the hitbox allocation on multiple maps.
The same is also possible for other object.
Every dirt mount around an AI emplacement in most air maps is not actually a solid object because ammunition can pass through it, so as to make killing it easier/make it able to kill the player.
Secondly, no They nerfed the range of Heli ATGMs.
the Mi4 had 8km on its and had the lowest range missiles of any heli in the game it is now 4km range.
The german SA Allouette had 10km range on its missiles, now 3.5km range.
the Ka 50 had 16km range and was a massive pain as it was literally impossible to counter that thing with any non USSR or Russian SPAA in the game for a long ass time
so its a bug that has since been patched IIRC several years ago
Bud that’s part of the employment model so that’s why
that’s not a TOW missile so of course it looks like they nerfed it because its a completely different missile, when I say a tow missile I MEAN A TOW missile not any other kind of missile.
I think thats because of the missile guidence system (its not radar guided) but I cant remember what it is exactly, something optical, probably saclos like the tows are
The patched part is jets fyling through the ground, not missiles. please read carefully
No its not. Every AI object is a model and has no sorrounding vegetation, landmass or similar. The fact that we have AA emplacemnts without any dirt cover, just played on a grassy field shows that cleary. Every encampment is placed as a seperate model and can then be stacked with different weapons. hence why we have some bunkers with all arty or all AAA while many other use 2 arty 1 AAA.
The bunker is the object with the landscaping features, not the actual AAA, arty or similar. Those can be placed fully independent
