honestly they feel overtiered only trick is turning well honestly zeros like A6M definetly should be lowered honestly the only people dying to these are noobs who turn fight it in a energy fight it looses in a rate fight it looses its also to slow to catch any runners
so ive gathered all of them a and lowered there brs by .3
As soon as gaijin implements the well documented compression at higher speeds their BRs will decrease automatically. Currently they pay the price for the absence of that compression with their BRs…
Based on hundreds of matches in small matches (6-8 vs 6-8) on Pacific maps (JP vs US/UK):
You can kill an entire team with 3.7 A6M2s with a plain 3.7 P-47 if you manage to get a significant alt & energy advantage, split them up and fight just max 2 at the same time whilst keeping your energy advantage. It gets more complicated if some 4.0 A6M3s are involved and requires way more patience and brain power than the average wt player is able or willing to invest.
they do compress as far as i can tell the roll rate slows insanely the elevators do not also they cannot exceed 400MPH in a dive and dont maintain energy well so unless you side climb cause the menance know as the SPITFIRE or P38s or something will always be higher BNZ your balls off
US + GB v Japan is the peak of fighter v fighter combat, and it highlights how NO ONE on the US side actually knows how to be a fighter nor know their fighter. A single US fighter can take the attention of almost all JAP fighters and usually that culminates to a free BnZ buffet, but no one’s patient, willing, mindful or otherwise. Even if you call out to them to just go straight, they’re not going to listen. Hell, they don’t even know how to 2v1 an enemy. It’s just mindless turning. I’m repeating myself over and over again with this, but it’s so pervasive everywhere.
Secondly, the big problem Japan has is its ultra-low skill floor and that the ARB meta favors the Zeroes slightly. Everybody knows A6M’s are slow, but they don’t take that slowness to account at all. People will go to furballs and never realize that there’s a Zero rubbing its hands for the free 3+ kills it’ll get.
It’s insanely easy to frag out in lower tiers because again, no one knows their fighter. Besides, why should they? Props is just a roadblock to the juicy jet planes. They’ll rank up to that BR and wonder why they keep getting folded, then they’ll complain to the forums about how shite some planes are.
Zeroes are a symptom of the decayed and rotting carcass ARB meta that Gaijin refuses to put down. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
tbf its not like games really last long enough for that any more
and you really need at least 2 good coordinated players for that to work with them helping out each other when they need, otherwise you will just be 3rd partied when you try kill the guy youve spent 10 minutes climbing away from
This. If it wasn’t for WT flight performance, the Zeros wouldn’t ever be higher than 4.0, because they were simply too slow to compete with any competitor.
I mean the Wildcat is 2.3/2.7 and the only reason they would struggle in the game is that, because unless you sideclimb, the Zeros will always be at a higher altitude.
Of course there’s also the issue that a single 20mm will blow off the wing of US fighter while.50cals can’t even cause any actual fuel leaks and that M1 Incendiary is underperforming compared to the late war API and APIT bullets, as it lacks any penetration.
Mhm - i recommend to do some forum search and read some of the reports dealing with A6Ms and their compression issues - the term high speed was aimed at classic combat speeds of 400-450 kmph.
Fully aware that wt and irl are not connected: The pure fact that a 3.3 F6F-5 was good enough to fight and kill 5.0 A6M5s might give you a hint why irl tactics don’t work in wt and that BRs are just a result of the wt meta, implemented FMs and average skill levels.
Every single Japanese aircraft and tank has been over-tiered for a long ass time, primarily because of a bunch of people who whine that they are too good, and because of that, their turn time has become 16, when it should not.
But also been overtired cause everyone, for some dumb reason, continues trying to fight them
Like all planes, zeros are decent but their advantages can be countered. They are great dogfighters, which does justify their brs. You can boom n zoom em in a p47 pretty well. It probably comes down to player skill, like any other half decent plane. I think they’re perfectly fine where hey are, at lower brs they would face newer players who don’t know how to counter them
No, it requires much more skill and patience to win on P-47/P-51D vs A6M than in opposite situation
Japanese props according to StatShark already have highest winrate and its extremely boring to fly in one team with them, they just stomp everything most of the time
You can always write something like just play smart and dont turnfight with them, but for some reason you dont need any brain or skill or advice how to win against US when you fly Zero
