The main armor on the front turret and hull’s key areas withstand 120mm-class tank guns and RPG-29-class HEAT warheads; the lower glacis withstand 120mm and RPG-29 after adding armor packages.
The side No. 1 armor can withstand 12.7mm machine guns, shaped-charge HEAT, and 155mm howitzer shells The roof No. 3 armor can withstand top-attack anti-tank missiles and 155mm
Side armor No. 2 can withstand 30mm armor-piercing rounds and 155mm high-explosive shells.
