A Swiss sub-tree for Germany is not the right choice

It’s already happened, you cant put close Pandora’s box now.

except it’s not, gaijin has changed stuff like this before, the biggest case being the italian “subtree” to germany, it could well happen again (and honestly, it really should for some of the subtrees)

the premium vehicles are mostly stuck where they are, since they’re purchases protected under law, but not the researchable ones, and again, just because they added vehicles to the wrong tree before, doesn’t mean they should do it again.

If the Swiss don’t get an independent tech tree then all Swiss vehicles should go to Germany.

and again, i firmly disagree, for the exact same reasons that i also disagree with all of the german vehicles being added to the french tech tree, PRTL includded.

as far as i’m concerned : german-dutch vehicles should go to the german tree; for the exact same reason that : french-swiss vehicles should go to the french tree ; that’s where they fit the best, as far as “tech-trees” are concerned

Currently, Germany does not have a unique top tier MBT, it doesn’t even have the best version of its own top tier tank.

and? i doubt switzerland’s Leopard 2s would bring you this, and i’m fairly certain german variants like the 2A8 or 2 Revolution would fit that desire better , but sure, i don’t mind swiss leopard 2s being added to germany

You’re right, they change their minds. It’s already happened, and Swiss has become the official sub tree of Germany.

I don’t understand what you’re saying. Are you saying they can’t add a tech tree version because there is a premium version?

Again, it is too late. France has leopard 1s and 2s. They are going to get more. The Dutch should have gone to Germany in the first place but here we are.

It’s a F U to Germany is the “and”

Even if Germany gets the 2A8 it could go to other nations as well. Germany should get the Swiss vehicles, they are the sub tree and I’m tired of the French whine that they shouldn’t.

You’re right, they change their minds. It’s already happened, and Swiss has become the official sub tree of Germany.

you are conflating the old italian air branch and the swiss air subtree, probably in an effort to argue that the latter is inevitable, even though the former very much proves that it isn’t.

I don’t understand what you’re saying. Are you saying they can’t add a tech tree version because there is a premium version?

no, i’m saying that, if gaijin, for exemple : moves the existing swiss vehicles into an independant swiss tree ; the swiss premiums can’t/won’t move ; in the same way that there is a D.520 in the british tree or an isreali F-84F in the french tree.

gaijin isn’t entirely bound by their past actions, except for the premium vehicles.

Again, it is too late. France has leopard 1s and 2s. They are going to get more. The Dutch should have gone to Germany in the first place but here we are.

and, like i just said, it is still within gaijin’s power to change that. just because they made the mistake 3 times doesn’t mean they should keep doing it a 4th and 5th time.

It’s a F U to Germany is the “and”

no, it’s not. i’m, rightfully, pointing out that : how unique/exclusive/good germany’s top tier tanks are? ; is not relevant to the question of : where should switzerland’s Moranes, Mirages and AMXs go?

i could make the exact same case for French top tier aircraft, it would be just as irrelevant to the question.

Even if Germany gets the 2A8 it could go to other nations as well. Germany should get the Swiss vehicles, they are the sub tree

and the 2A8 doesn’t have to go to the other trees, not if those trees have better options available in the near future, just like french-swiss vehciles shouldn’t go to the german tree

I’m tired of the French whine that they shouldn’t.

right, so you complain about an actually structured, reasonned and neutral remark being “insulting” in some way…

…and then you go whine and complain about “the French”? we’re talking about “War Thunder” the video game, what the hell do the people of france have to do with any of this?

I don’t think you understand my point.

I don’t know what you are talking about again. I mentioned the fact that the M47 is a premium vehicle even though it was used by west Germany and should be in the tech tree. Also, it’s such a weird thing to say “well, they gave 5 nations the same tank you have and or a better version but now we correct the mistake…by having a double standard and not giving this nation a vehicle from a nation”

Until they remove leopards from france(or literally any other tree except Russia and the US since they don’t have them) it’s too late.

It absolutely is. Imagine having the Leclerc in every other tree.

It will.

No one is whining except the French because they don’t want Germans getting the Swiss sub tree. It’s too late, stop with the wine and cheese.

I just want to add, it’s so annoying to be told that Germany can’t get vehicles because “it’s not historical, they didn’t use them” or “well, they used these vehicles but they don’t need them!” Only to see other nations get vehicles they don’t need or never used.

With what. Some 11.7 leopard 2a4s lmao

Germany.

They probably will, france still lacks an actual competitive top tier tank, so they would also get the dutch one as well

Then the dutch one needs to be delivered 🤷‍♀️ and embt 2022 and Leclerc xlr and evolution all exist

Well, they have been bought, so it is a matter of time, also probably isnt as much of a inssue knowing gaijin

Far from being competitive, still awful armour and lacks aps.

Not much is known about those two so claiming that they would be competitive is an stretch, specially the latter with the ascalon.

We know enough About them.
It’s literally the only next step for the french

Do we? Pretty sure that we barely know much aside from some press releases with vague claims

Good thing that sub tech trees exist

There’s enough information on their performance for what matters in wt 🤷‍♀️

And that sub tree is irrelevant until 2028 lmao when they dutch expect to get the first one.

At the rate that they add top tier vehicles in france thats sooner.

Please always write AMX-13.

I already was shocked and though you mean something like this (which I would have liked as Hunter replacement):
grafik

= )

France.

they do belong to Switzerland, but not to Germany

no, i do understand your point, i just disagree with it.

wether or not the Leclerc or the Rafale is added to every other tech tree, does not change the view that : french-swiss vehicles have more in common with France’s tech tree than Germany’s.

the rest of “the french” are not involved here, not everyone that’s “whining” about this is french, and wether or not they are is entirely irrellevant to this discussion

you say that, but the ones that get those “vehicles they don’t need or never used”, are also not happy about it. france tt mains included…

…which is why they would even ask for french-swiss vehicles in the first place :

  • those are related to france and its vehicles (export models, shared frame/hull or turret…)
  • some of them are very much needed in the tech tree (SPAAs, SPHs, stabilized tanks…)
  • some don’t (or can’t) have a french counterpart added instead. (either non-existent or very hard to find info on)

There is honestly no point in continuing then.

It is what it is. The Swiss vehicles will be going to Germany, just as the Dutch vehicles have gone to France.

They belong with the rest of the swiss vehicles. In Germany cope if you don’t like it.

You complaining over export turrets never used by the french and what a amx 13
Pathetic.

That is a completely irrelevant notion considering what sub-trees are and how they are implemented in WT since the beginning…

Sorry to interject, but speaking as a third party: Gaijin has officially placed the Swiss Air Force in the German tree. The core equipment of the Swiss Army (the Leopard 2 family, Centurions, domestic tanks) has a lineage far closer to the German line than to the French line, and so-called ‘Franco-Swiss cooperation’ is mostly component-level overlap — not enough to justify assigning an entire tech tree. Splitting Switzerland into France would both contradict the established fact and violate the logic of equipment systems; in the end it would only make the French line messier, not better.
