OCU has AIM-120 capability.
Now, whether or not Python 3 I haven’t found images, just AIM-120.
Either way, Python 3 isn’t raising OCU’s BR any.

Then fill it with unique airframes from the oceanic nations.
At the moment, we don’t have any current plans to remove the F-16AJ as it will be in a different line and at a different BR, with different weaponary to the Thai F-16.
What line will the thai stuff be added to, after the r2y2?
So we’ll get another subsonic attack jet with all aspect mislles going against aircraft with no CMs? And being its worse in performance than the A10 amd SU25 amd has no gun, im guessing 10.3 at the highest?
if the gripen C gets the rbs15, before the swedish aircraft able to carry those, i am deinstalling
either that or a new line completely as they might add lower br planes later
Awesome, having not log finished the Japan air tree it’s felt a bit weird how quickly I got through it, and a sort of incomplete feeling to things cos of that and it being a fairly small tree too to others I’ve finished
Very welcome news indeed!
in the dev QnA they hinted at the potential with something about extreme weather in the dev blogs
hope Gaijin will add Vietnam in future
God, everyone complains like it’s not a worldwide export or something like the Leopard 2…

(I’m not constituting that I dislike Copy Pasta, it doesn’t bother me, but at least use a better argument other than “Womp womp”)
I think that is what will happen. Thankfully (as a Japanese Air main), I just finished unlocking all the R2Y2s and the F-16AJ! So, remove away Gaijin, for it shall not affect me.
Gaijin has previously stated that the only real reason that they kept the R2Y2s was due to a lack of strike aircraft in the Japanese tree, so now that we’re getting Alpha Jets and the like, there will be no more reason for them. It is a little sad as the R2Y2 V1 was my first jet ever, but it is how it is.
The F-16AJ was there for similar reasons so that Japan could have something with guided Air-to-Ground armaments and something besides F-4s and F-15s. However, as it is kind of a substitute for the Mitsubishi F-2, it very well might not be removed until the F-2 enters the game.
So yeah, the fictional stuff is very sadly likely going (again, sad as both of those planes are some of my favorites in the game, but fair for everyone else I suppose). I’d say that the R2Y2s are likely going to go first, as Gaijin has previously said they are adamant on removing them. If any of y’all haven’t researched them yet, try to put at least a few RP in on one of them so you can research it!
Edit: Community manager just stated that the F-16AJ will be kept for now and will just see some shifting in the tech tree. Don’t worry about that for the moment. Only the R2Y2s are currently at risk of being on the chopping block.
This ^. They’ve talked about it for years, if there are ever going to do it, it’ll be now.
Agree, but we’re waaaay beyond the point where this becomes an issue already… = (
Apparently the Alpha Jet TH trialed the F-5’s gun in lieu of the mauser. Itd be cool if they added it to the TH.
Oh look more american planes at top tier how original
Seeing as now thailand is getting their alpha jet with the upgrades, is it possible to get another alphajet for germany with the aim9L sidewinder and mavericks (and other upgrades).
Indeed!
Unfortunately, War Thunder reflects the globalization we see in real life.
Many nations utilize Leopard tanks due to their quality and cost-effectiveness. The same applies to F-16 aircraft.
Adressing the the REDFOR community, this trend is similar to what occurred with T-72 tanks and MiG aircraft in the past.
Furthermore, enhancing tech trees by “filling gaps” is more advantageous than adhering strictly to nationally produced vehicles.
If the game only featured domestically-built vehicles, we’d be left with just three playable nations in the modern era.
While I’m not fond of duplicate vehicles across nations, I must admit that I switched to playing minor nations because I grew weary of the major powers (jsut too uch vehicles bruh). And feels incredible good to not need to learn a new vehicle over and over again when I do need to grind some boring stuff.
As long as these smaller nations continue to have access to reasonably good vehicles, players can benefit from this diversity to progress through the game while potentially having access to their favorite vehicles.
I mean fine gripen, F-18, F-16 are all export fighters but please its so dumb to have to fight the same exact vehicle ur in, top tier is becoming 3.0-5.7 Ground with the shermans, like, guys at the dev team. Can you kindly atleast start making nato/warsaw(russia and gang)
Then we wont have to subject our brains to, heyyy, another 7 me!
