For the A-10A’s for example I generally prefer the early because of the clearer TV image, but if weather or daytime is iffy, I use the late with the AGM-65D…
Would be nice if we could indeed chose which variant to carry, because there is no variant specific limitation, but they ruled that out to keep the two variants unique, one with SCENE MAG MAv’s and HOBOS, the other with IIR Mav’s, no HOBOS and double the Sidewinders (which I never ever saw IRL…)
