A-6E Return?

They said they are going to add anti radiations missiles this year, which means they may add the A-6E back as a GE vehicle instead of a pack with the AGM-45 or the AGM-88. They could also just bring back as limited run for special events ect ect.

Air RB is horrible for this plane and is only good in ground rb, and maybe sim, but the game is not great for subsonic attackers.

I found it particularly useful for destroying ground AI, convoys and ships in Sim EC. However, it’s completely useless for airfield bombing since airfields at 10.7+ are now defended by the Ito 90.
Additionally, the ballistic computer still behaves incorrectly above 5,000 meters — which is approximately the maximum engagement envelope of previous SAM systems.

As you see barely 4 minutes in battle and almost 30k SL, you can make more kills and kill ground objects so SL be bigger

Why do you even attack airfields? There’s always enough bases around,and you can easily kill two of them in one sortie without much of danger.

How many you met such players, be honest. 3? 10? There is no way you know 200k players to think you are right only

I’m on a Discord server for a community that only plays WWII vehicles, and it’s all veterans. There are currently 1235 people on the server.

Obviously, I don’t know all the players, but speaking for 99% of them is obviously incorrect as well.

Airfields used to make more sense. Sometimes you got more points for damaging a module than for destroying a base. And if you managed to destroy a whole module, you could score around 1,400 points. There are only 5 bases, and I usually end up in lobbies where the whole team is carrying bombs, so I’m not going to watch as more bases disappear right in front of me or wait for the next one to appear. That’s why I started bombing airfields. But above 10.3 it doesn’t make sense anymore—unless using JDAMs, since then I don’t have to get too close to the airfield.

Yeah those ItO’s are a bummer, most so on Denmark where they make it practically impossible to attack the northern bases without stand-off weapons.

While in general I’m all for better airfield defenses for high tier, that they already start at 10.7 makes no sense to me.

But for me I think I adapted, and accordingly just chose my maps differently when I intend to do base bombing…

yes, but only you have plane as good for CAS and fights. I dont have F111F Ardvarc, or F15 E, or F16c, my best cas plane is F4e. So i stick with SGB.

You can research F-4J. Copy of premium phantom with HMS. Better use Sparrow 7E-2 dogfight, in close range 5-10km works great. I had battle where could make 6 kills per one flight. Just don’t fly high, soviets may punish hard and you will get better jets easier than F-4E

But not very suitable for CAS in GRB due to its lack of stand-off / precision air-to-ground weapons, compared to the F-4E (with AGM-65, AGM-62, GBU-15,…) …

You can’t research better jets playing only GRB.
Those early AGM don’t lock often and make 70% of hits. Majority of battles get Bad Weather conditions so what the point of TV/IR weaponry if impossible to play

Early AGMs dont work at night. I don’t remember which one version exactly, A or B AGM65

AGM-65A, B and H are TV only and thus are not working under low light conditions and in bad visibility.

D and G are IIR, E and L laser guided, allowing them to be under low light conditions and in adverse weather.

I’d still genuinely kill to see an entire Intruder group/folder in the TT: A-6E (1971) → A-6E SWIP Block 1A → A-6F Intruder II

Then the YA-7F Strikefighter could be added, foldered in with the A-7E and A-7D :D

That’s why my mavericks today denied lock and launch in fog… Sometimes TV GBU also not locking

Rather you will see 100% Terrible Weather condition in every battle where you could gather points on jet. 😏
