despite being one of the more modern Skyhawks ingame, the A-4PTM ingame didnt recieve gunpods and mavericks, both of which it should have considering its at 9.3 in grb and historically was able to carry both, meanwhile the A-4E and A-4B get access to bullpups, and the Isreali A-4E and A-4E Early get guided bombs while the PTM only has unguided bombs and rockets at the same BR, sure Malaysia never recieved Mavericks or Gunpods for the A-4PTM but then it doesn’t make much sense to keep it at 9.3 in grb other than the fact it gets access to Aim-9P’s

Why? “balancing decision, NOT A BUG”… like literally everything else that gets reported. It took 3 or 4 reports to get the the issue where the “holed below water line” voice line just played on repeat, even in a plane, to be accepted. Bug reporting is a complete waste of time. You literally have to risk getting banned for spamming just to try to get somebody to actually read your report
sure it dose, it might actually get read before it’s closed and dismissed for completely arbitrary reasons, like you didn’t attach a screen shot for an audio bug, or some other such nonsense.
there was already bug report on the A-4PTM involving alot of weapon systems it theoretically could get, including Walleye’s, Mavericks, Shrikes, alongside the documentation that showed that the PTM was equipped with Aim-9J’s and not Aim-9P’s, but the report was labelled as “Not A Bug” and then closed because the user who posted it put the sources in the comment section. thats why i decided to put this here, my apologies.
They are rarely seen armed at all, but from what we do know it’s that the same AIM-9Ps that Malaysia had for their F-5E were used for the A-4PTM. AIM-9J was integrated as part of the modernization, but AIM-9P ended up being used making the near-identical in game 9J irrelevant to add. Similar to the AGM-65 that was also integrated, it seems Malaysia didn’t buy it.
A-4PTM on display with Malaysian armament, including AIM-9P. These specifically seem to be inert missiles (but with functional seekers) used for training.
But it would be really nice to see armament like the AGM-65, which was specifically integrated even if it seems Malaysia didn’t make use of that capability.
It seems odd to me that they decided to add a Skyhawk without any guided munitions or ballistics computer, despite its general role being that of a CAS aircraft & Japan’s clear needs. Malaysia may have mostly flown the airframes with drop tanks or occasionally rocket pods, but its not like Gaijin has restricted loadouts to service for a while.
