The fact you have to play sim isn’t good though I hope either escalation or some change to the ARB formula provides a decent fix
I don’t play Sim mode. I play RB.
They intent to make it permanent , so i think they won’t change RB to that direction.
If anything, if i was them i’d already make it perma and keep updating it, since it solves a lot of WTs issues (even if it is incomplete especially at higher BRs) , and make RB officially deathmatch.
For as bad as arb is, i find it better than ab and sb.
Sim lobbies are either PvE only or PvP to the point you cant do PvE. Plus not a fan of being stuck in the cockpit and unable to see.
I think more players prefer the sim map layouts but the cockpit-only view and mouse joystick keep them away.
I agree but they should make it available for all BR ranges
Not everyone play sim, so it should have different BR for different modes.
The laziest response “just play sim”. No everyone want to fly to an objective for 10+min and get mopped by Jets that out range your missile and didn’t get to even bomb. Nobody wants to play defensive all the time. Not to mention everyone targets A10s because A10s are just too slow for the BR they’re in it’s always a free kill. AIM9M can’t compete with someone who can out maneuvers and out range it, not to mention speed. Aim9m are easy to defeat.
You don’t have to play it at all, simple as that.
I wanted to say something related to Bohemian Rhapsody but I couldn’t think of anything
The problems are very similar to RB’s though. Any lower and it becomes even more of a flying no-fly zone. Any higher and it becomes a free kill.
The A-10C is not an air superiority fighter.
Have you actually played it? You realize you can chose what BR you play, so you can fly the Warthog where its BR is max. BR?
The low density of aircraft in Sim means you are very well easily capable to survive the 5 minutes flight to the battlefield, where you then can “work” the ground troops for a good ten minutes or so, with little competition or opposition, nothing that you can’t handle.
They don’t have that convenient marker on them in sim that alerts you they’re there and heading for you.
This screenshot represents the state of the A-10. You spawn way in the back with the other fighters that can go mach jesus while A-10 is stuck going as fast as a dang biplane.
The match is over before it begins and going to hangar results in crew lock.
That True boring game
Exactly, A-10C is not an air superiority fighter. Why is it at the BR it is currently at? It’s even at a higher BR than faster Jets with ARMs and better or equivalent ATGM (Su-22M4, Su-39, Su-24M, Mig 27M/K, Su-25T, Su17M4, F4F, F4E). The only quality it has is 4xAim9M it’s only good for defending itself, not to mention at that BR some jets also have IRCCM missile so, having Aim9m isn’t too much especially when you get ambushed all the time.
Yes, I have played it in sim. And you sound like you never played sim at all. I mean 10min in and already getting spawn camp, not to mention getting ambushed at where ground troops are at because everyone knows you’re heading there. A-10 is slow, so they get there before you did and hide to ambush you. The only way I grind A10C is by putting myself in danger to go to ground units are; to fight other jets, but most of the time is so slow that they’re already preparing to ambush you.
Not to mention it’s at a higher BR than faster Jets with ARMs and better or equivalent ATGM (Su-22M4, Su-39, Su-24M, Mig 27M/K, Su-25T, Su17M4, F4F, F4E) especially in GRB.
Aim9M in Sim is good if you’re fighting a noob who doesn’t pay attention and preflare and fly straight.
Usually I don’t bother about others stats, but here I just had to have a look at your claims.

As for the A-10C specifically we have a compareable amount of sorties, with rather similar results.
I have however a tad more experience in Sim in general, with over 2000 missions over your 100, and Warthogs are favourites of mine, with the A-10 early actually my most flown plane by far.
I have to admit though that the A-10C variant I fly very rarely. The reason however is not any lack of surviviability or other perceived shortcomings like its slow speed, I simply don’t like too much the helmet sight implementation in WT, and as the A-10C can on its own make quick work of any ground battle alone thanks to SDB’s, being in a match with more than one A-10C means much more waiting for something to do than in the A-10A variants. So if I want to go tank killing, I will usually prefer to take any of the two A-10A’s over the A-10C.
In my experience spawn camping per se isn’t a thing in Sim, at least not at the A-10’s BR’s, especially not anymore since they replaced the Rolands with ItO’s. Ambushing yes, but as they know where you probably fight, you know they know and will try to fight you, and thus you can prepare: Ambushes can work both ways…
And all Warthogs can defend themselves very well, with 2-4 IRAAM’s, an extremely effective canon, a turn rate that others can only dream of and seemingly endless countermeasures.
Just don’t let them goad you into taking the fight to the vertical, that’s more often than not a death sentence.
Btw, I often observe other A-10 players in sim approach the target and initiate the fight at rather high altitudes. With that one increases ones chance to be attacked tremendeously, and is a very dangerous tactic! For me it works best if I really work at treetop hight, only popping up for target aquisition and stand off shots with missiles or glide bombs, but also then never above 1000m above ground for Mavs or 2000m for SDB’s (with which I struggle because of their low yield, I must say…).
One little note about preflaring 9M’s: Few aircraft at that BR are as lavishly equipped with countermeasures as the Warthogs, and while the Hog can dump chaff and flares generously, attacking opponents have in most cases to be much more conserving in countermeasures use and can’t really afford to flare so generously.
Umm, sorry for rambling on in RB section about Sim… = /
Just noticed again we’re actually in Realistic section haha!
I have the same problem with A-10C but in ground battles.
The earliest spawn I can manage is not early enough for me to get above the battlefield to stay out of radar coverage. I tried 3 days back to back to get a single ground kill with A-10C in Ground RB but didn’t manage.
Sorry to all you bad-mannered try hards, I’m not one of you, I play chill.
Say skill issue as many times as you want, I’m just gonna flag your post as inappropriate :)
The problem is not only the speed and climb rate of A-10C, but also how early the enemy spawns in their op BVR automatic super advanced auto-guided spaa’s that I don’t even get the chance to reach the battlefield while flying straight.
I don’t know why is A-10C at 11.7 but it sure ain’t right.
The plane is too slow, it doesn’t have long range fire-and-forget missiles, it doesn’t even have IR guided bombs, but still sits at 11.7 and faces both variants of pantsir, IRIST, BUK-M3, etc.
It doesn’t many missile either, only 6 fat AGM-62’s that are very slow, can’t lock from very far, don’t have MITL either, and can be easily intercepted by spaa’s.
It would be better at 11.0 and give it GBU-53 at the very least.
I actually found the A-10C the most easy A-10 variant to grind through, thanks to the GNSS glide bombs and AIM-9M’s. But it was painful when it was stock. Here’s the best XP farm loadout:

(APKWS is optional, Hydras work too)
Start the match, climb to about 4000 meters (13,000 feet) and use the targeting pod to zoom in on the lines of ground units and tap 1 bomb per target. You can middle-mouse click the map to set your GPS coordinate WHILE looking through the targeting pod and the view will “snap” to the GPS coordinates. Usually ground units are in pairs of 4, the old classic layout. Drop all your bombs and dive away from the air-to-air furball and give your bombs time to hit. Then, do some more ground attacking or hunt planes with the AIM-9M’s. I actually have more pain in using the A variants (Early or Late).
But you missed the point. I’m arguing about the fact that it is 11.7 in ground rb and in ground rb A-10C is useless. Even its GNSS glide bombs can be intercepted by spaa and also A-10C doesn’t go nearly fast enough to throw them at a very far distance. So it’s very useless.
