90% of my matches are Uptiered

I do not understand how 90% of my matches have suddenly become uptiers over the last few months.
I play at 8.3 Germany and I will play at the correct tier maybe twice in a single night in between the say 20 games I will play in a night.
I then play at 9.3 Germany for 20 games and that too is the same amount of uptiers, at 9.3 they are less frequently full uptiers though which is surprising as I thought 10.3 would be one of the more popular brs in the game.
I would like to know who is actually playing at the correct tier at least 50% of their games like I used too, I would assume I am isolated in this issue as somebody has to be being downtiered frequently to be in my matches.
It just doesn’t make sense to me.
the main thing that annoys me the most is it will search for a match for a split second and then immediately throw me into a full uptier, I would prefer if it atleast tried to search for a normal game and I would be happy to if it was the right br for once.

Btw I used Germany as an example, uptiers are now permanent for me across all nations and br.
thanks

If you play with the mindset of “uptiers are bad” then this game is simply not for you. The best way to go about this is thinking about which vehicle in your lineup suits the current map/uptier/downtier. And if you do get uptiered, simply don’t care. It makes a huge difference once you stop caring about uptiers and downtiers.

Germany 8.3 has nothing there if you don’t have the TURM 3 because the Magach even though having powerful ammunition isn’t enough to make up for the lack of stabilizer, if you are an aggressive players who constantly push forward to apply map pressure, without stabilizer we are in it for a bad time, unless we sit back and snipe, pretty boring playstyle for some. I think 9.3 Germany is in a much better place because uptier to 10.3 weren’t as bad compare to 8.3 vs 9.3s.

10.7 is the same way. I cannot remember the last time I had an actual 10.7 match, it’s usually 11.7 or 11.3 at best.

simply if you don’t like a certain map or that you get an uptier just leave and come back in a few minutes. I’ve been doing this for a long time because why make it harder for yourself when you can do other things at the same time

This problem is very simple, because the number of players has decreased, in order for the number of people in each round to be full, Gaijin will match players to the premium room, which causes the problem you said, and now I play 11.7 land vehicles will basically go to 12.0 every game!

When we go up at 12.0 play the king of mbt but every game get kh-38’d lol

Indeed.
As im currently grinding france, i was playing a lot of 9.7 and 10.0 which where mostly downtiers.
As soon as i went 10.3 it was only uptiers, then i switched to 10.7, still mostly uptiers, now 11.0 and it’s the same.
It’s weird how thats even possible.

Only br I find there is more partial downtier than full uptier is 9.7 and 11.0, both br have something in common which is lack of vehicles to make a complete line up.

uptiers/downtiers are heavily dependent on BR

I feel the same as you. The problem is complex, and it actually starts at 6.7. People unlock the Maus once they’ve researched 6.7/7.0, die with it quickly, then continue playing with random vehicles. Later, they pick the strongest lineup at 9.3, and suddenly you’re playing your German 8.3 lineup against full 9.3 teams. When playing 9.3, they naturally move on to another strong lineup at 10.3 — often with just one vehicle or a premium tank.

The main issue is the huge gaps in the German tech tree — 8.7, 9.0, 9.7, and 10.0 basically don’t exist. On top of that, many players only play Germany because Tigers and Panthers were once powerful, but they never really learned how to play the game properly. That leaves you relying on whether the rest of your team can carry the match.

If you’re up against the Russians, you’ve got a 90% chance you’ve already lost. Just compare the tanks they have at your BR or even +1.0 BR — it’s ridiculous. While I usually have a 50–60% win rate with most nations, with German 8.3 or 9.3 lineups, I barely manage 40%…

well uptiers aren’t the end of the world, but why wouldn’t I want to play against more fair oppopnents? The higher the rank the less meaningful, though I still play decently the point still stands either way.

If you wish to avoid uptiers, play simulator mode.

In Ground Simulator mode, fixed lineups are used. These lineups rotate daily according to the following chart:

Pick the tank you wanna play, type its name here:

You get the following for Tiger E:

Then you click say, 4_1 and scroll down to see:

(list goes on for a while).

You get 1000 spawnpoints in ground sim, no more, no less. Therefore, everyone gets the same amount of spawn (corrected for SPAA/TD/aircraft/heavy tanks costing different amounts).

If instead you like flying

Come and join us in Air Simulator battles where we do NOT have lineups, but instead rotating brackets!

For instance,

Today it’s 8.0-9.0 day so you’d be guaranteed uptiers ALWAYS. However, tomorrow it becomes 7.7-8.7 and your 8.3 vehicle becomes much more competetive. If you absolutely must only ever be the top dog, you can wait until the 8th of June so it’s 7.3-8.3!

Here’s a tutorial library to get into air sim: https://www.reddit.com/r/WarthunderSim/comments/vn5n75/new_pilots_video_guide_library/ (it also has the links to the above tables/charts should you lose them).

I strongly recommend searching WingalingDragon’s tutorials and Flying Tea-Rex if there’s stuff you don’t see in the library. If you have any questions, don’t be afraid to ask.

I do have to warn tho, Sim is kinda dead in the 7.0-9.0 brackets unfortunately (mostly zombers), but it is decently healthy at 3.0-5.7 (6.0 has ju288, I refuse to go near it so cannot speak of it) and gets active above 10.0 again with 9.0-10.0 being fifty-fifty.
