French tanks require you working around their downsides. Fast pushes are basically impossible because you are gambling on actually hitting something critical when further away than 10 meters.
Guess why the premium AMX-30 is one of the stabilized versions? Put a new player in 2 identical tanks but have one without stabilizer and see how they perform.
Stuff like the amx-50 surbaissé shouldn’t be facing the T-55AM-1 for example. That’s the most egregious example that springs to mind.
The problem is, I don’t know how you solve this with the current BR system without leaving yawning chasms between tiers, but that will just lead to more one death leaving.
Perhaps rather than the BR system we currently have, vehicles could have ‘points’. i.e. stab = 10 points, LRF = 10 points, 1 point per kph, 1 point for each mm of main gun. Add them all up and that determines what you can face.
I’m certain that’s not a good solution either, as I just pulled it out of my arse, but I do know the current BR system breaks down horribly the higher the tiers go.
lol, why ruin your point with that comment about the premium. The AMX-30 premium is not stabilized, and if you’re talking about the Super - that is 9.3, which is when France has stabilizers, anyway. You also listed no upsides for the French. They’re that BR for a reason, and not just because experienced players play French.
@TheDudesRug Dude, if you’re going to claim that the good takes I get from the WT community that represents me are bad… boy oh boy.
At least you acknowledge France 7.7 - 8.7.
No one’s complaining about T-54s being bad despite having the worst turret traverse either.
Good takes - bad takes aside. What I find annoying more than anything is when people approach a tank with a list boxes they need to tick - thermals, laser rangefinder, stabilizer and so on. Then if the tank doesn’t have it, they write that tank off as DOA. These people usually haven’t played said vehicles. I own both Somua SM and AMX30-Super. And I much prefer playing Somua. It is my most used French vehicle. It has no stabilizer, it fires solid shot. Yet it is a lovely experience to use. Would a Somua with a stabilizer be better than a Somua without? Sure. But that isn’t how this works, don’t compare in isolation.
my endless uptiers at 7.7 mean i either get downed by a gepard in a 1944 jet (7.7 meteor) or a 1945 prop (spit mk24 my darling). Im yet to find a reason why a flakpanzer from 1976 with one of the best ground radars is facing things from ww2.
At least there is an argument with yensei and shilka because their radars are more primative, its not all russian favouritism but that is a factor
If not, think about what decompression achieves with a ±1 BR matchmaker, now apply that logic to ±0.7 BR matchmaking. You might see some similarities, if not then I cant help you further.
Spoiler
Solution to the complicated Riddle: Its effectively the same as decompression since when decompression happens most vehicles go one BR step (0.3) up or stay the same, you just dont have to change BRs of thousands of vehicles.
No one plays 7.0 for any nation. Few nations have 7.3s and only france and UK have 7.7s worth playing. That means most of your games are upteirs since nearly every nation has a 8.7
Absolutely, but it would be a temporary solution until they figure out actual decompression :>, because changing BRs of thousands of vehicles, then for airplanes have seperate BRs for air and ground, arcade, realistic and sim is not something that can be done in a short span of time.
If only this hadn’t been a problem they’ve ignored for years, and they could have started fixing it years ago.
I don’t know what the game designers at gaijin do all day, but it sure as shit isn’t addressing the major issues the game has such as stale game modes and the BR system which is just falling apart.
