JAS39E entered service (in Sweden) just a couple of months ago lol.
Looks at ECRS Mk2 intergration on the Typhoon FGR4
Sips tea innocently
sweden ground would be a good example

Calling the F-15C GE a plane from 1979 is like calling the Su-30SM2 a plane from 1992.
Neither are true, and intro dates aren’t used to balance aircraft.
one thing i will bring up that you failed to mention, that i think is the biggest issue if you wanna talk about introduction dates and balancing aircraft eras, i think you might of wanted to bring up that the F14 from the late 60s is fighting planes from the 2000s
Its a F15 ofc its old.
Realism has nothing to do with this.
Not only that, but your list is wrong.
Su-30MKM we have in game is 2019, not 2007. 2007 was the initial MKM which is not represented in-game.
JAS 39C is after 2005 [HMD].
F-15C GE is 2025 [MRMLs, otherwise 2015], no where close to 1979.
F-18E is 2002 [HMD].
Quick research would’ve given you these.
date of introduction doesnt mean anything.
We have 1949 tanks the same BR as things from the 1970s.
we have 1970s planes facing ww2 era planes too.
Ajax is the same Br as the challenger 1 mk2 despite entering service (and then being pulled from service) this year yet in game this is balanced.
While there is some abhorrent BR placements like the Venom and Vampire its mostly from the vehicles actual capability, service dates generally never mattered
So the 15C GE is a upgrade package on the C model that was introduced in 2010
ahh yes pls ignore the aim120 introduction into service…
As it has the shortest in service time of any vehicle in-game (I think) it should be reserve rank :P
Those Aim-7Fs must suck at 14.3 :P
it will be if we do the right thing and scrap the ASCOD 2 base and go to the CV90 base.
Sunk cost fallacy is a big concern for me on ajax
yup we need aim9x for an 1980´s soviet missile…
wouldnt that just call for the AIM-9M as that entered service in the early 80s?
yes,but there are still some that want this exact thing I said…
US Mains:
SRAAM is TVC, therefore the US should get a TVC missile. So add Aim-9X to 9.7 Harriers
:P
“Realism” would mean the german eurofighters would not get EFS (because germany banned Halon gas, the thing used for the EFS lmao) and not enough missiles to fill the hardpoints. or be limited to just tranche 1 because thats what they patrol with.
most russian jets of the cold war would have a high chance of random engine failiure just like the me 262.
the Komet would melt its own pilot
super hornets would be fed to the ocean.
British MBTs of 7.7 would be kicking what is currently 6.3 to death non stop every day.
The ajax would knock its own crew out.
SU-34s would randomly eject the pilot (quite a lot of planes would tbh)
full scale realism and historical matchmaking would make this game suck because history and technological advancements from different nations has always been unbalanced and matchups have never been a true fair theoretical fight.
War thunder is a “simcade” game, realistic enough to feel authentic while staying accessible and to the tastes of the masses. Pretending that this is a super serious simulator is very foolish.
Buddy, historical matchmaking would ruin the game. Sure, it’s a realistic game, but if there was historical matchmaking, some sides would be much weaker than others. So it’s ok to have age differences of vehicles at the same br as long as the vehicles are competitive and fun to play
