CThe duration of matches in realistic mode at the top tier is too short. Both in the airplane mode and tank mode, matches end too quickly. Many times, playing in airplane mode, when the match is 2v1 or 2v2, it ends because of the time limit, preventing intense 1v1 dogfights. In tank mode, it’s even more frustrating because you bring multiple tanks, planes, and helicopters into battles but can barely use two vehicles properly before the time runs out. I’ve noticed my matches last, on average, 7 minutes and 30 seconds. The most enjoyable matches for me are balanced ones that last around 20 minutes. With the current time limit, there’s not even enough time for FOX3 aerial combat between jets, which is very exciting in tank battle mode. I understand that our generation wants everything fast – quick matches, fast food, 30-second video content – but longer matches are incredibly fun. Quick 7-minute matches make War Thunder very tedious.
All designed to make unlocking vehicles and spading them so painful that you do it with cash
Look at that massive 2 k RP
The main issue is all the people leaving after one death. We need only large maps for top tier also as they all move so fast the smaller map center caps are met in just over 1 minute from game start.
I may have to take up SIM again and see if their matches are any longer.
It is all the ODLs and those players who deem the match to be done within the first 5 minutes. I often say first to all chat loses.
(Edit)
That’s the main reason small maps are so popular. Especially at top tier.
He’s researching an SK60B with a Gripen…
We don’t know the context of the match outside that.
Especially waiting 10 minutes for a 3 minutes Simulator match lol.
If you are in a slow tank with no mods researched you will not bother to respawn because you fear the game will be over before you arrive. We need to have faith in the games being long enough.
Feels like I am playing a demo version of a full game more than ever. Game always ends when it starts getting exciting. I don’t have “time” to play 5 minute matches.
Absolutely, I am not blaming the players who do leave on one death, but it is the reason for a lot of short matches, especially when all the leaving is done by one side.
The cause of that issue happening is no doubt many different factors. Which is where the problem lies.
There should be a special game mode similar to Counter-Strike 2. The requirement is to have a large number of vehicles from the same BR and not be able to drop out of the game; if you do, you will be suspended for 24 hours. In this mode, you would earn a little more XP and money to captivate people…
I would welcome any bs like that just to see it fails incredibly miserably lol. And i would absolutely love to see there two and a half poor bastards, who playing wt to win and thinking they are not the smallest minority. And a bunch of yellow bots.
The problem is with 3 zones is that once the 3 zones are taken the game expires before any attempt can be made to recapture them.Just played a game where the comeback was on the cards as the enemy team spawn rushed and got annihilated then as we were pushing forward on a counter offensive the game just ended. We had players ready and we were getting back into it.
Hardly surprising people quit early when the chips are down ,the game encourages it . you
That, the now smaller maps, the removal of sniper points, and on top the retarded trees is the reason i stopped playing at all on PC, uninstalled the game and just play war thunder mobile now every now and then. when i am waiting for the bus or so.
This used to be the greatest game… years ago. Then it got just crappier and crappier. Now it is an ADHD Tank-Tiktok.
The Suspense of driving for up to 10 Minutes until you reach your designated point with the long range gun without being spotted to protect the heavy tanks taking the point… Gone. No slowly building Thrill anymore. There once was a good system and tank for every playing style. now… not. You had to know when to go and when to wait. Now? Just BROOOOM BANG from the start.
Just bangbang. Next. Tiktok Generation. 2 Minutes no action and then their Brain ejects.
Same for Airplanes. I used to enjoy flying Bombers, more my style. Take time to gain height, then go and nullify some targets. Land, recharge, start, gain height again in some corner, hide in the clouds, destroy the next targets. Time in between to think, time to meditate, see where the weather put the clouds to hide in, time to watch the map what happens and to choose where to go, where to fly without being spotted.
I do, at the moment, enjoy Enlisted though, it is new and Gaijin did not demolish the game yet.
But there they also change the tech trees from time to time.
I do have troops in every tier now with big gaps in between and cannot continue researching without filling the gaps.
This seems to be Gaijin Tradition.
I resemble that remark.
Here’s the problem.
How are you going to convince players not to get in a plane?
How are you going to convince players to play low tier?
Everyone plays what they like, but inevitably, everyone wants to play modern tanks.
That’s why for all their bluster, WOT went that way, now War Thunder.
You can still enjoy World War 2 in the trenches, but you’ll inevitably have it harder because you’ll be around a lot of newer players who are bright-eyed, bushy-tailed, and probably young with zero experience in the game.
I would enjoy larger ground maps for modern tanks with actual topography to traverse.
But I, unlike many of these younger players, was a tanker who got bored out of my skull. And let’s face it, this isn’t a milsim. This is still an arcadey game meant to keep people hooked.
For those players who like meditating, lower tiers still exist. Sim exists. But arcade styles will still rule because Gaijin wants players to rotate and keep engaged, rather than stick with a fight for half an hour. Not everyone can dedicate 3 or 4 hours a day to playing a video game. Fewer still can dedicate days or weeks to the grind.
First we need to find out if they care at all.
Or convince players not to faceplant points.
