They should firstly fix that fuck ass SPAA radar window, can’t fucking lock target
they are all in on F-47 but Navy’s F/A-XX is a little dicey.
recently though i think there is more pointing to F/A-XX happening
F/A-XX renders looks extremely familiar if you see what I mean, so I want it way more than I want the F-47 to happen
Naval 6th gen is going to be a money monster. Carrier planes are expensive already 6th gen is something else. Drone fighters are more of a software issue so who knows how this will end.
Yep, though since the idea of most 6th gen programs is a few manned fighters with a ton of drones, the cost might not be that bad for the full fleet upgrade
I still think planes like Hornets and Flankers will continue on into the 6th gen era or maybe some sort of “Future 4.5 Gen plane” due to there value in doing basic grunt work. Sending a J-20 to intercept an airliner or do security work would anger the budget office. Though the Phantom is a late 3.0 jet its the same idea it does its job well and cheap that is why these older planes may have value for years to come.
Unmanned jets might change that as some look like 4.0 jets that got a stealth upgrade so they might be cheap to run for grunt work. Though don’t ask them to deliver your coffee order across the country that’s just being corrupt.
Two things I wonder 1. will these drones get a cannon 2. Could neuralink help control these drone swarms.
Definitely, they have some time ahead for that reason. History proved that cheap equipment is essential in a war, especially modern wars that are often asymetrical
I think it’s their main purpose, they’d do the most and the manned jets would just be there to supervise so you wouldn’t need many of them
It’s more likely that they will than the manned aircraft will I’d say
Potentially, but it’s too early to tell for now. Might be incredibly powerful though if it happens
It would be funny if cannons on aircraft become some sort ceremonial weapon. There there just because we can. We leave the magazine empty 90% of the time but its the thought that counts. Talking about cannons there are tactics and theories that do point to them still being useful as a way to discourage getting to close or in a 1 v 1 engagement where both sides use up all there missiles. To just call it a draw and go home is the best option in real life.
Then again giving a pilot neuralink surgery is a dumb way to burn tons of cash to an already expensive pilot if it fails. Pilot training is not cheap.
Yeah tbh I’d say HOTAS and HMD do the job just fine
About the cannons, it depends on the role of the plane. For ground attack the cannon can be useful but for air combat it’s indeed more decoration than anything
Get in the 7.0 fighter Shinji the AI will melt your brain but thats fine.
We’ll end up with jammers that fry the enemy pilot’s brain if we keep going
Dont stand by a radar when its on its a bad idea.
Actually you’re reminding me good memories because the one who told me how dangerous it is was a Mirage 2000-5 pilot
Really shows how little folk know of history or the things they comment on. France has been one of the foremost arms manufacturers for centuries lol
For real, same vibes as the dudes saying USA should be op because “muhuh we have the best everything irl”
Very true this counts towards most of there heavy industry. Though they do get first movers weakness.
USA’s equipment is not always good not always bad it’s meant to do a task. Anything out side of the task and things go south.
Building something that can do everything well is expensive and will cause project failure.
Yep, also US military glazers don’t seem to understand that the main reason of its effectiveness is the sheer quantity of everything they use. The equipment is excellent obviously, but not necessarily the best at everything
pilots tend to be smart, and no one smart would ever want a product that elon musk touched inside of their brain.
It’s just the knock on effect of refusing to follow the US in their Iraq boondoggle, Dick Cheney then got so red, mad and nude he cooked up a massive media campaign to vilify us, and since North Americans are on average pretty stupid, it worked. Combine that with the fact that the internet is obnoxiously North American and you have all those stupid takes on France floating around, but we don’t get the monopoly on cliches, any country the US deems a threat is treated the same, at least our leaders aren’t kidnapped at night and our cities aren’t bombed with impunity.
If the Department of War say jump I guess it will happen
