which Swedish plane uses HE in the 12.7mm belts? Im genuinely curious since I have played .50s in Sweden before
They are all usually akan m/45(AKA M2 Browning) or the ones from Finland which also dont

Its not the 12.7, rather that 13.2mm Akan m39. Its also a Browning M2 copy, but shreded to a differet calibed with HE belts

Can be found on early J21 and A21
Also J22 and the fokker d23. It’s not 12.7mm, it’s rechambered. It was specifically designed with HE belts in mind, and it is more akin to a 20mm aircraft cannon in terms of usecase, designed, and logistics than a .50 caliber designed to drown enemies in volume of fire
Yes. but its still Ma Deuce internally, even featuring same ROF. So its basically still a 50cal :3
By this logic the 75mm PaK39 L/48 is a French anti-tank gun then.
Why?
Im not familiar on the history of Pak39, but if all they did was to rechamber the old french cannon (also FN only did change the barrel and breech to do so as casing size was equal on american .50 and french 13.2 hotchikiss on which akan munitions are based) - thats a good comparisson!
Old M2 was also a FN-Browning design, so im not sure why you oppose calling that FN 13.2 Mg a updated 50
A machine gun isn’t „designed“ with HE belts in mind.
Bullets are bullets. The gun doesn’t care, if the bullet it fires are AP or HE.
What he ment is, they rechambered that M2 into 13.2 to use those bullets, it was one of the reasons for it
The Akan’s RoF is significantly higher- 1080rpm vs 750rpm.
12.7-13.2mm FN-Brownings. Just a faster firing M2, like the M3.
I think you are mixing up the Pak 39 and the Pak 97/38.
P-51C’s .50 cals instakilling a do-335 once I finally get half my guns to hit his fuselage at a really weird, awkward angle.
Been vaporizing B-52s and Tu-95s with no difficulty at all in .50cal-armed Sabres for this entire event, they really need a buff!

Probably doesn’t help that bombers are now carrying nitroglycerin payload that explodes the moment someone points their guns at them.
But hey, thats WT 2026.
Everyone is firing 30mm Mineshells and bombers fall apart even when shot by machine guns,
Even when their rounds contains just a 1-5g of chemical filler.
You can just saw wings off too, or set engine fires extremely easily. I even pilot sniped a B-52 while shooting from almost directly behind it with .50s.
Clearly they need a buff as my targets were vaporized only after my bullets hit the target, and not the very moment I pulled the trigger.
