.50s AA overperforming

So, this might sound like a rant, but i dont care. Really, i dont get it:

50 cals on planes behave ok, maybe not as good as they should but ROF and saturation make up for it.
Meanwhile, 50 cals on tanks and SPAA are just broken right now and i dont know if its a bug or what, but im getting shot down from +1km away in just a couple shots, half the plane disintegrating. Sometimes ONE single shot is enought to render your tail or a wing useless, or it sets the whole plane on fire, or damages the engine to orange status and by the time you are on your way to the airfield it gives up and you lose all your speed.

You can survive 20mm HE/Incendiary rounds, a 40mm might blow up half your wing or make a big hole in the body of the plane and you still survive. But god forbid you get hit by a 50 cal… They hit harder than CANNONS, but the ones from planes are clearly weaker and behaving like machineguns. This also applies to other 12.7mm ground guns, like the russian ones.

I just really dont understand what has changed since the last patch, but this doesnt feel intended.

Probably cos the Russian MG’s have a HEI round in their belts.

The fact that cannons are underperforming is very true — it’s almost illegitimate for plane to survive 37mm and 40mm rounds like it’s nothing while tank get cripled by 1 shell.
aircraft and helicopters should probably have less durability or armor to improve game balance for mee

Depends on the shell, and the plane. A sheet of paper or tin foil will not shrapnel much when you hit is with 37mm or 40mm AP, it will just leave it with a similarly sized hole in the fuselage. If it has HE filler though, that is a completely different story, goodbye plane
