Yet somehow a lot of them are event vehicles and premiums more often than not.
It depends from the squadron and how active it is. I can get easy 20K every 3 days by just getting around 180-190 points in activity. Even noobs can get that. No 360 points required, but I still get that while grinding BP.
Yes obj 279 for example.
But it does not stop being strong when event ends, no? Its strong even during regular gameplay with no event going on.
They use that during events, but then move to something else/spade when there is no event. They will be back to it when the new event starts.
But there is no incentive to use them 24/7 on a normal day, it doesn’t research top tier, it’s not a premium so it’s not good for RP or SL, it’s just good at scoring points which isn’t really important outside of events.
Only one vehicle so you only have to do it once every 2 days. Far less then 80 or 120 score every 2 days
You’d need an entirely full squadron, with all 128 players earning 50k+ RP every 3 days. Good luck finding that when you’ve just joined the game 2 weeks ago.
I’ve never heard of noobs grinding 50k every 3 days, let alone people with 5-7k matches getting over a 0.5KD.
It requires half a squadron, it’s 20.000 per 3 days with 360 max per player, so 56 players.
But 360 points requires like 70k RP which is what a new player will struggle with as that’s a lot of RP with really bad RP multipliers.
Using them 24/7 would bring more of those statistics gaijin loves so much, and playing them effeciently (to reach higher scores) would project to those statistics, and most likely end up in BR increase or such.
Likely to the BR they are no longer efficient.
If Gaijin actually cared about those things, sure.
But as is evident once more with not increasing the BR of the premium vehicles in the French tree but still uptiering the worse TT vehicles there is clearly an agenda involved, likewise with the VIDAR at 8.0 and the introduction of most event and premium vehicles being intentionally undertiered to promote the sales.
279 is well within the realm of overperforming and has been since day 1.
I got 360 points in one evening just grinding the BP tasks. Got it in something like 10 matches. That doesn’t add up to 50K+ RP, it’s much less. Had the medium old task still running and the new ones for the day.
Sorry, forgot about that much.
I believe it’s still only about 56k RP per player.
Most definitely, especially since top tier vehicles get almost 3x the RP income.
You get 1 point per 200 RP… so to get 360 points you need to get 72k RP, which is a lot more difficult to do when your vehicles have low RP modifiers.
It absolutely is.
Problem that would need to be adressed sooner or later, for example, in situations that cant be ignored, like if 9.0 became “obj 279 only, no tickets 24/7”.
Isnt that example of vehicles being played too efficiently?

They’ve ignored it so far, just like they’ve ignored the KV-1B and 1E.
Isnt that example of vehicles being played too efficiently?
They’re played efficiently because the snail nuked the entire BR and deleted all the competition to a point where only France has a competitive lineup and to a lesser degree Russia, that end up playing against mediocre M46/47/48s or a Marder before they’re forced to respawn in a Tiger ll as backup.
I feel thats because they are not played 24/7 which goes back to what you said previously and what i said previously.
I dare to say, and lord forgive me for saying this loudly, that we both agree its problem in need of adressing.
Well yes, BR got nuked, those vehicles became “meta” with sudden change, and got played because they were “meta” and they were played too efficiently, resulting in increased traffic which resulted in increase of BR to BR where they are no longer “meta”.
I feel that would, or rather should, happen with other “efficient event grinding lineups” but that goes back in circle to first point.

They don’t need to be, Gaijin has screwed over minor nation vehicles for the last decade that get played extremely rarely… 1500 matches in the 279 would put it in or close to the top 10 most played vehicles for Japan, Italy, France and UK, and none of those nations are excluded for BR increases.
There’s a Japanese prop plane at 7.7 that gets played by probably a single person, and it will still go to 8.0 one day.

They’re meta because of circumstances and not vehicle performance, which is the questionable part.

To me that shows that efficiency does not necesarily need to go hand in hand with objective vehicle performance.
If that server replay based winrate analysis that floated over at r/warthunder is to be believed, that BR was farming nukes quite on regular basis, ie played efficiently and they got moved to BR where they are (probably) not efficient.
Isnt efficiency the key factor when we are dealing with the issue of “people would min-max their lineups to be the best possible event grinders”? Rather than objective vehicle performance?

I mean that’s the question, a vehicle performing well because Gaijin deleted the competition has little to do with the vehicle performance, but still gets an increase in BR to fight vehicles it has no business fighting at all because the BR increase was unrelated to it’s performance.
Leading to a vehicle being useless and irrelevant, no longer gets played and the void left behind will be picked up by Russia in this case who will now dominate the 7.7 region with EVEN less competition than before, so the eventual outcome is for all the 7.7 vehicles to be moved to 8.0 I guess.
Well that sounds like issue of HOW gajin balances things, not as to WHY.
Would be interesting to look at this issue from the other side, ie vehicles that have objectively good perfomance but low efficiency, but its too late for me now, so i will be taking my leave.
Have, unironically, pleasant night.
