I want the buff for the F-15I and other AMRAAM spammers in the Israeli tree, but I digress. It’s not all about the US of A. What I really mean is that the discussion should focus on buffing these weapons that need actual buffs. Not just focusing all your energy crying about another nation, trying to get another nation nerfed.
BMPT, Su-34, Mi-28, BukM3/Pantsir, 2S38, and the endless missile bugs that only effect non-Russia aircraft.
At what point do we just accept the Russian bias claimers are right?
It is not only about missile performance, loadouts affect plane performance too while sitting on the belly until using them
I believe the OP is talking about the drag of the missiles while mounted on the aircraft.
i think the original poster thought that Cd = D
They already turn better than igla in the game
The R-27ER and sparrow appear to have issues within the coding that make the R-27ER massively better.
It’s mostly that r-27er seekerhead has less range and it also has datalink which allows it to lock onto the right target and keep track on targets much better instead of going off to no where
Isn’t the name “Sidewinder” taken from the constant left/ right course changes it makes in flight resembles the Sidewinder snakes? that cant be good for energy retention.
In game the r73 still have more drag, just a technically lower drag coefficcient, however the autopilot wobbles so much that negates the “advantage” of the lower coefficcient
I mean it’s simple fact that stingers pull more than 13g irl and saying “we don’t think it can do it because igla can’t” is definitely pure cope by gaijin
The r27ER receives perfect tracking from track memory which as far as I know is the only one that does in its own class of missiles, it also just seems to have much much better coding for tracking targets as it can’t be rolled off like sparrows and tends to path find its way towards enemies much better. Not sure how true this is either but I’ve also heard there isnt really any proof or evidence that the r27er can DL or lock after launch.
… it definitely has LOAL and datalink
from this technical manual on mig-29b:

clearly states LOAL and inertial guidance and datalink
The aim 7p also have the same guidance in game
Ok my bad just what I heard I aint got all day to look into these things still doesn’t change the issue with it just seemingly having much better pathfinding and perfect track memory.
This is where the issues come into play for me, why then does the 9P struggle to track targets through basic maneuvers, if you want to dodge a R27ER you have to pull a good notch and some chaff to defeat it, if you want to defeat a 9P you can just kind of roll around it or pull away from it then back into it and the missile just doesn’t follow you neither of these can be pulled against the R27ER as it will just track you perfectly through it. Granted I do use myself R27ER’s more than sparrows.
the r27 is simply kinematically better, have higher g load and much bigger war head all of these things also impacts on how easy can you dodge it, also the dl and ins doesnt really play much of a rol, when you actively dodge the missile, these are more impactfull on the mid course guidance and relocking thanks to the dl, hitting someone flying straight after you loose a lock and the ocasional angle gating from the ins.
The aim 7p still have DL and ins and they both can relock
track memory I’m not entirely sure how that is supposed to work other than the fact that it should last for 3 seconds, but as for tracking, for r-27er, as long as radar is tracking the target the missile should be able to hit the target as the missile itself has no minimum speed

me when new missile from 1980’s performs better than an upgraded 1950’s missile.
