350 kg Fat R-27ER, ET same air drag with AIM-9, AMRAAM, MICA etc

In game the r73 still have more drag, just a technically lower drag coefficcient, however the autopilot wobbles so much that negates the “advantage” of the lower coefficcient

I mean it’s simple fact that stingers pull more than 13g irl and saying “we don’t think it can do it because igla can’t” is definitely pure cope by gaijin

The r27ER receives perfect tracking from track memory which as far as I know is the only one that does in its own class of missiles, it also just seems to have much much better coding for tracking targets as it can’t be rolled off like sparrows and tends to path find its way towards enemies much better. Not sure how true this is either but I’ve also heard there isnt really any proof or evidence that the r27er can DL or lock after launch.

… it definitely has LOAL and datalink
from this technical manual on mig-29b:

clearly states LOAL and inertial guidance and datalink

The aim 7p also have the same guidance in game

Ok my bad just what I heard I aint got all day to look into these things still doesn’t change the issue with it just seemingly having much better pathfinding and perfect track memory.

This is where the issues come into play for me, why then does the 9P struggle to track targets through basic maneuvers, if you want to dodge a R27ER you have to pull a good notch and some chaff to defeat it, if you want to defeat a 9P you can just kind of roll around it or pull away from it then back into it and the missile just doesn’t follow you neither of these can be pulled against the R27ER as it will just track you perfectly through it. Granted I do use myself R27ER’s more than sparrows.

the r27 is simply kinematically better, have higher g load and much bigger war head all of these things also impacts on how easy can you dodge it, also the dl and ins doesnt really play much of a rol, when you actively dodge the missile, these are more impactfull on the mid course guidance and relocking thanks to the dl, hitting someone flying straight after you loose a lock and the ocasional angle gating from the ins.

The aim 7p still have DL and ins and they both can relock

track memory I’m not entirely sure how that is supposed to work other than the fact that it should last for 3 seconds, but as for tracking, for r-27er, as long as radar is tracking the target the missile should be able to hit the target as the missile itself has no minimum speed

me when new missile from 1980’s performs better than an upgraded 1950’s missile.

Cus DL itself overperforms
It shouldnt be re-activated after dropping the lock

Me when someone on war thunder can’t comprehend we are talking about issues in the coding of the game and not on the real performance of the missile itself.

It’s clear that you don’t understand how DL works, or even simply the fact that the 27’s have better kinematics than sparrows. And after looking at your profile I can see that you don’t actually have any vehicles with 7P’s to begin with. You’re just complaining for the sake of complaining.

You don’t seem to understand how DL works either in that as somebody else mentioned the way it works in game is incorrect.

anyways since you wanna be one of those stats mean all kind of people here ya go a player much better than you or me noting that sparrows have issues with tracking opponents in game and pathfinding.

My feelings would be really hurt if not for the fact that Migan and I are friends and have literally played tournaments together on the same eSports team LMAO.

And I don’t know what kind of trauma you have but I never called out your stats being bad, despite how tempting it was xD.

Cool then it should probably hold more weight that somebody who is your peer is acknowledging an issue in the coding of the game.

I stopped playing in 2017 and came back, it’s nice to see morons are still moaning about bias. Unsurprisingly people who spam this tired trope all have the stats you’d expect, wonder why, huh.

doesnt prove anything. r27 has better acceleration and top speed and anyone with more than 2 braincells knows that the faster you go the higher your drag will be

Simply wrong down to a letter by the way.
Because current ARH missiles act exactly like that - hardlock someone far away, fire a missile. It gets datalink. Turn off the radar/drop lock for a second, lock again. DL no longer works despite whatever HUD is saying. Works the same way with losing track in TWS.

The code for “DL working until lock is broken even once” is right there.
Its just not getting copypasted to wherever it needs to be.
Curious.

This is the question we need answering
