Introduction:
War Thunder currently offers (static profile frames ) that surround a player’s icon. While these frames add a layer of personalization, they remain fixed and can feel limited compared to customization systems in other games. I would like to suggest the addition of animated profile frames as an optional cosmetic feature.
Context:
Animated frames would feature subtle looping effects such as glowing borders, shifting metallic textures, or waving banners. These frames could be earned through events, Battle Pass rewards, or purchased in the Gaijin Store, while static frames would remain available for players who prefer traditional designs.

Animated profile frames would modernize the look of player profiles and make them more visually engaging. They provide an additional layer of personalization that helps players stand out in matches and on the scoreboard. Because they are purely cosmetic, they do not affect gameplay balance or performance, but they do enhance the overall user experience. For Gaijin, animated frames also open up new opportunities for rewards in events, Battle Passes, or premium sales, adding value both for players and for the game’s long‑term development.

Yes, it can be, but only if it won’t be painful to look at them like in case of first one you showed. I would prefer simple animation lasting at least 1 second, in more complex animations the end of animation should be well connected to beginning (perfect loop).
That is about frames, but if you also mean picture inside like weifu picture, then it’s should be limited to stuff like heat/smoke effect, waving hair in perfect loop, otherwise it would be inconvenient for me. Personally i don’t like furry stuff, but there is rather no option to not see them.
Gaijin could redirect part of their monetization efforts torwards cosmetic items. This is a good example, we had auction in the Marketplace not too long ago with one profile frame and one camouflage, it seems that Gaijin has forgotten about it completely (fortunately).

Cosmetics are going to be really important for WarThunder moving forward (mainly in skins especially concerning infantry) but mixing animated frames with animated profile icons are going to be a lot of animated stuff.

+1 Only if theres an Option to also disable it which should also be added for the Anime Profile Pictures and included in the existent Setting where you can disable ahistorical/fictional Camouflages/Decals.

Absolutely i don’t wanna see a lot of distracting, too much Cringe, furry or other fast moving glowing stuff causing in case of some people epilepsy, even more on leaderboard or during battles. It would remind me about WoT eww. If it was at least aesthetic possibly for everyone and not too fast, in perfect loop.

If we continue talking about pink color, i would like to have big rectangular, triangle, round decals - different mosaics, stripes and solid colors, all colors. We know what kind of pink object people would paint on their vehicles unfortunately. Some people already places on tank decal “fighting cock”. I use decals to paint tanks, having big rectangular decals of many colors and shades (modern and more old historic quality for different realism) would allow me to paint whole tank → examples of what i did this far are: whole pink T34 (smiling pink thing - content creator decal), whole violet disco aml90 just use valentine hearts, it looks great, also royal AML90 uses different swedish decals, lahatut with red dragon and scorpion one of the best definitely. On one magach i used decals which says “Pick Trump” on magach 6M shovel for everyone to see + some anime pillows placed symmetrically. M55 is easy to paint, because it has big surfaces for creative decorations.

that’s the point of the suggestion to make player profile alive and more tasty it’s extra option on the top of the normal static frame.
it will make player profile more awesome and pretty to look at !
mr snail can add cool effects
maybe mr snail can give free random animated WWII profile frame when players reach level 100.

I like these ones, they aren’t painful to watch and it’s what i had on my mind, animations which aren’t too short and fast, reminds me of my dicker max painted with fire, it was whole painted like that and engulfed in fire after being destroyed, so it was on fire all the time.
