North American F-100F Super Sabre

Hello all! I’d like to suggest the North American F-100F Super Sabre for US aviation in War Thunder. The F-100F was the final production variant and two-seat trainer of the Super Sabre family. It retained the combat capabilities of the F-100D, including six wing hardpoints for external stores, while its armament was reduced from four to two 20 mm cannons. It was an important variant in the history of the US Air Force, as it pioneered the Wild Weasel concept during the Vietnam War as the first aircraft specifically adapted for the SEAD mission. In addition to its Wild Weasel role, the F-100F also served as a Forward Air Controller (FAC) aircraft under the MISTY program and was used as a test platform for advanced weapons such as the AGM-64 Hornet anti-tank guided missile.

Seems cool to see a new F-100 getting added

Only one thing I am worried about is…
Things go like Finnish KV-1E or South African TH800, and Gaijin doesn’t add this because of ROC F-100F

I don’t think that would happen. All F-100Fs were produced in the US, primarily for the USAF, before a small number was exported to other allied air forces.

The Finnish KV-1E situation is a very, very odd one, and the South African TH800 is iffy because of its direct connection to Germany, so I cannot really say much about that.

Back then, there was little reason to have the F-100F in the US tree when we had F-100D, which was better anyway, but now, with the introduction of ARMs (AGM-45 Shrike and AGM-88 HARM), the F-100F has a purpose in the US tree as the earliest SEAD aircraft.

Because of this, I might just be traumatised, but well, I really want to see F-100F on US TT

(Well, we also have cases like the Soviets need to pay for L-39 Albatross while the Japanese can earn it as a tech tree vehicle via Thai subtree)

earliest SEAD aircraft, will be a neat addition, not gonna lie.

if it gets the 9Js at like 9.7 i would be fine with it, gaijin already showed us that it could work with the event mig19 with 9Ps

theoretically it could receive the AIM-9L, as although the order to retire the F-100s came out in 1972, they still served in national guard squadrons till 79, 2 full years after the AIM-9L came out, however i haven’t been able to find anything that could lead to the F-100s obtaining it, whatever ED has i can’t find, however, as 9Ps are export 9Js as often use along side AIM-9Ls is service, its possible that the F-100s could receive the AIM-9P-4 as the only difference is seeker head, however it entered service roughly 8-9 years after the last F-100s were pulled from guard service, even if it got the P-3s it would still have a reduced smoke motor, but in the end you would end up sacrificing the AIM-9s for the ARMs themselves

The pylons on the F-100 series are not compatible with the AIM-9L, unless it’s proven that they had used different pylons for the AIM-9Ls irl.

AIM-9Ps would be the latest Sidewinder variant to be used on these pylons.
