Happens all the time i hit that thing from the side in to his ammo carussel and…nothing! hit cam show i make his ammo explode but nothing…
today hstvl hit him 16 times and he simply run away…sure!
In the past year, I have had the 2S38 soak up a sub-10 number of rounds. Its a blatant lie or incredibly bad shooting if you hit him with the HSTV-L 16 times and didn’t kill him or disable him.

Inflated numbers and skill issue, I had a game on the HSTV-L using only two rounds per target at maximum, for example a Leopard 2A6, the first shot I messed up and hit the turret, the second penetrated the drivers port and knocked the driver and the gunner out destroying the tank.

Most light tanks are like that until you go through and specifically learn where to shoot if you are using darts. No armor is best armor isn’t a meme. I pretty much went insane shooting light tanks center mass only to have the engine eat the shot or it pass through without disabling their gun last week and always just go for shots now to either hit ammo if i learned where it is or if I dont to aim for the gun and not low or center mass to make sure I dont die. Lights with unmanned turrets like the 2s63 and narmer can be particullary annoying, but the crew layout on the 2s38 is pretty cramped all in the front.
As for hstvl vs 2s38, heres a clip from yesterday of me playing it showcasing what 5 degrees of gun depression really means. You can see where I just pause in disbelief for a second after being unable to pull my gun down on that slight incline, and a good of example why camping thermals is bad (thought he died). But imagine if the hstvl had to deal with this instead of having 3x the depression, half the profile, and better mobility. It is virtually impossible to play the 2s38 hulldown and only expose the turret to take shots because of the poor depression which is why tanks like the hstvl are higher br.
If the 2s38 even had 2/3rds the gun depression of the hstvl, even with the higher profile, you could be so much more oppressive with it playing behind cover its not even funny. And it actually would warrant a much higher BR.

Its a modern russian testbed vehicle. Gaijin will make it ungodly powerful just like the fake KH38MT they added for top tier CAS

War thunder is consistently inconsistent on complex damage models, I’ve had extremely powerful APFSDS be eaten by electronic equipment or even create zero spalling quite a lot

I’ve yet to see a 2S38 that I don’t one-shot with the HSTVL.
HSTVL is arguably the best light vehicle in the game for a reason.

The only way 2S38 is under-BR’d anymore is if VCC-80/60, HSTVL, Begleit, etc are also under-BR’d and I don’t see it.

Is there a thread where somebody is not crying about this, it’s getting pretty pathetic.
Since you love proof so much, im sure you can show us data which shows how 2S38 is overperforming.
I am not talking about the HSTVL didnt kill it today. I also single shot other tanks or even this 2s38 (aiming the front side) the thing is i also hit with leo7 the side below turret and hit the ammo carussel and in the hitcam i see his ammo just didnt explode and i need anbother shot, same with abrams week ago. Today it happend that that it just ate about 16 shells. and before you say bad aiming he popped smoke and i was under fire from somewhere else and had to peak again and again on a hill. As if of you guys ALLWAYS one shot anything despite the different situations (smoke, fast mover, trees etc)…
