2S38 to 11.0

I mean the numbers/pictures i pulled from my post, i thought you were talking about that.

Yep. It’s quite insane just how deluded these swaths of “western” - oriented players are.
And whenever it’s someone claiming the 2S38 is OP from “their experience” - it’s usually an extremely mediocre player which hardly ever averages above 1 K/D.

My most played BR bracket is 10.0 and I see the 2S38 all the time - and I’ve never seen it as anything else other than an extremely average vehicle that’s extremely easy to kill. All known statistics agree.

2S38 (10.0 Premium):

Leopard 2 PzBtl 123 (10.3 Premium)

I’ve also seen some insane copes such as people saying the 2S38 is a “light tank” and so kills don’t matter as much - even though these threads have all been created in order to imply that the 2S38 is equivalent to the 11.7 HSTV-L and kills everything so easily!

Do you perhaps remember the story long long ago about the Italian Sabre?

I’ll give everyone a little education - a couple of years ago, a couple of dudes on a discord, who all had bonkers stats, decided to mess with Gaijin - they all played the CL.13 Mk.4, importantly the Italian one because very few people played it. For context, the CL.13 Mk.4: CL-13 Mk.4 - War Thunder Wiki

Anyway, it was 8.3 when they started playing. They played for a couple of weeks, and soon, in the next BR changes, they saw it move to 8.7. Because, of course, the stats looked insane. because the players had a bonkers K/D and were squadding left right and centre. They kept playing it. By the time they were done, a .50 cal sabre, which isn’t that much better, was being proposed to be moved to 9.0 in BR.

Think about that for a second. That plane was considered to have the same performance as say, a Hunter.
Not really great.

The moral of the story being that good players can make a bad vehicle look good. The reverse could be applied here. Lots of bad players see people being able to do extremely well in it, think “I want to do that!”, end up playing it and being really bad at it. Thus making a good vehicle look bad.

Statistics don’t lie. It is true. But context is key.

If anything, the thing should be at the HSTV-Ls BR as the minimum

The 2S38 still has inferior stats to other ~10.0-ish premiums that are subject to the exact same conditions.
That is to say - everything you’ve written is pointless.

I agree what you say.
But if it was overpowered, which in my opinion means even bad players perform exceptional in it, we would see far better stats compared to other premiums, which we don’t.

Forgive me but last I checked the only other “light” tank premium around 10.0 is the CV 90105… which is (as much as I’m sure the swedes would love it to be) equipped with a 1-ish second reload…
I might not know a whole great deal about top tier but I would imagine having a much faster reload might be quite useful. (Edit: I forgot the Wolfpack!)

Could you define “overpowered” in your own words for me?

Can you define madman? Just because I have relatively bad stats, doesn’t mean shit you utter muppet. I enjoy the game and I am a UK main, I rarely play the 2M due to the fact I never play Russia (I last played it when I couldn’t shoot a T-90M with one shot of L27A1) Just please, whenever you try to win an argument, don’t try to blackmail. Not a good idea…

CV has a complete different playstile though and far more penetration.

Huh ? I just did in where you quoted me.

I don’t see how it being a light vehicle matters. Light tanks usually have more killing potential and higher speed, and a good player will do good regardless. It’s not like 1 K/D is the standard for a light tank and 2 K/D is the standard for an MBT.

Especially considering there’s people insane enough to imply the 2S38 should be 11.7, the same BR as the HSTV-L - a vehicle with impossibly better statistics and a far superior chassis.

You.

Might I add you’re using old stats from over a year ago

That’s a year, just a heads up. 2023 is a year ago. I had to double check myself, but can confirm. It was a year ago.

Thx for noticing, just another point for that china patriot

I mean i checked as well and updated it, the stats didn’t really change a lot.

Shush. my SB and RB stats improved as well as the number of my RB games

It’s crazy when the only statistics you can see are win rate and kills/deaths. I’ve seen people comparing the 2S38’s stats to main battle tanks. Kills and deaths are not even a reliable way to judge MBT performance, nevermind light tanks/spaas like the 2s38.

It’s also silly when thunderskill doesn’t tell you what BR people are using the vehicle at. I personally use the 2S38 as my light tank for 12.7, and I see a lot of people doing the same.

of it not being OP*

kills and deaths on thunderskill are not conclusive regardless lol. Doesn’t shock me that someone with a name like yours is making this argument.

“This is my average air RB round: (in the Tornado F Mk.3)”
“A 6 kill game”.

Your stats in the Tornado F.3 are 125 deaths and 193 kills. That is an average of 1.544 kills per game.
Not 6. For that to be your average game - you would need to be a four times better player than you are now.
