Combination of shell that can lolpen the T-80UD and thus neutralize its armor, combined with the fact that Clickbait alone was played more than T-80UD for January 2026, not to mention 3 other US 12.0 tanks would drastically reduce, if not outright neutralize, T-80UDs advantages.
T-80UD has the same armor scheme that T-80U/U-E1 has which means M829A2 can’t lol pen its ufp.

I was somewhat wrong, it is not missing a layer, but has weaker composite layout instead.
Third layer is weaker but also has air which acts like magic in warthunder.
From my experience they dont have any difference when it comes to protection, maybe I’m wrong due to never bothered to aim their ufp in the first place.

This is true. However people who “mess up” their shot on T-80UD with M829A2 will just clean you everywhere on hull and most of turret, so the armor doesn’t really have its presence at 11.0.
Never said it has, the main strengths of UD are basically protection and reload time at 10.7 which will be easily negated at 11.0 due to potential of facing 12.0 regularly.
I nuked couple UD’s yesterday when i was playing Click-Bait, they thought uptiering that tank would be useful while I just simply activated my ESS and side skirted from the corner and one shot them in return :)
People underrate how useful ESS is. Tanks without thermals have no counterplay and its very funny.
Yeah I use it a lot whenever I face Mexican stand off, in fact you can Also use it when enemy is trying to see you from the corner in 3rd person view even if they have thermal sights, tho risk is much higher.
It might likely go up in br, gajin recently put the pakistani T-80UD/BE to 11.0… theyre practicly exactly the same tank, the pakistani one just gets thermals, not really a reason to be condemmed into the 11.0-12.0 hellscape as ab10.7 tank

Well yeah but that makes it a atronger tank. And remember, the pakistani UD went up to 11.0 in this very same patch that moved standard UD up to 10.7.
well… i use the T80UD and 2S38 at 12.0+ though the T80 isn’t that good with it’s shell and traverse speeds… i usually stick to city maps like sweden for that, the 2S38 is a glass cannon, it is pain, you NEED your UAV to scout for you, without it, you will be rage quitting (sometimes youll be fine, usually with good positioning)… if theres any specific questions about them, ask me. also i brought them both on sale, you should too.

2S38 can perform at 12.0 if you know what you’re doing, its better than most ifv’s thanks to its firepower and ROF, not to mention its also quite effective against helicopters and low flying jets.
Its a glass cannon packed with decent firepower,electronics and optics.
2S38 cant move fast so you cant atack enemy side and 57 mm shell not strong for head on head. İf your light tank speed avarage, 5 second reload time, 105 mm shells working better.
Not really, for its size it can move fast enough can certainly flank, with its firepower you should never head on with any mbt’s from the beginning.
What about the lack of thermals. In some maps u will need it.
