2s38 and t80ud are good at 10.7 or not? If yes i was wondering which one is better?
They’re good, both can still go up in br so if you get uptiers you won’t suffer. 2S38 is good in some cases where you can get the flank and score multiple kills but is alot more easier to kill than the t80ud. It comes down to playstyle. the T80ud is a solid MBT so good protection but slightly nerfed APFSDS penetration but still good for its br. If you’re ok with dying alot in the 2S38 but getting to farm alot of kills at the same time buy the 2S38. Get the T80ud if MBT is more of your thing.

aight im going to have spicy take, without further decompression happening first, T-80UD shouldnt go up any further.
at 11.0, full uptier to the 12.0 shadow realm makes it face lot of tanks that can just lolpen its UFP - and when you sacrifice lot of your kit for armor, once that is taken away…

2s38 is doing fine, but t80 ud is a joke. Don’t spend money on it, at that br, it is a scam tank. It doesn’t have thermals so it can’t compete at all on that br
there is virtually no difference between 11.7 and 12.0. tf you talking about
US gets 4 tanks with M829A2, including Clickbait, massively popular premium.
Combination of shell that can lolpen the T-80UD and thus neutralize its armor, combined with the fact that Clickbait alone was played more than T-80UD for January 2026, not to mention 3 other US 12.0 tanks would drastically reduce, if not outright neutralize, T-80UDs advantages.

T-80UD has the same armor scheme that T-80U/U-E1 has which means M829A2 can’t lol pen its ufp.

False. It is missing a layer of composite in the UFP.

I was somewhat wrong, it is not missing a layer, but has weaker composite layout instead.

Third layer is weaker but also has air which acts like magic in warthunder.
From my experience they dont have any difference when it comes to protection, maybe I’m wrong due to never bothered to aim their ufp in the first place.
Yeah but we know how protection analysis can be misleading from time to time.
Still you should never aim ait ufp when you’re dealing with Russian tanks.

This is true. However people who “mess up” their shot on T-80UD with M829A2 will just clean you everywhere on hull and most of turret, so the armor doesn’t really have its presence at 11.0.
Never said it has, the main strengths of UD are basically protection and reload time at 10.7 which will be easily negated at 11.0 due to potential of facing 12.0 regularly.
I nuked couple UD’s yesterday when i was playing Click-Bait, they thought uptiering that tank would be useful while I just simply activated my ESS and side skirted from the corner and one shot them in return :)

People underrate how useful ESS is. Tanks without thermals have no counterplay and its very funny.

Yeah I use it a lot whenever I face Mexican stand off, in fact you can Also use it when enemy is trying to see you from the corner in 3rd person view even if they have thermal sights, tho risk is much higher.

It might likely go up in br, gajin recently put the pakistani T-80UD/BE to 11.0… theyre practicly exactly the same tank, the pakistani one just gets thermals, not really a reason to be condemmed into the 11.0-12.0 hellscape as ab10.7 tank

Well yeah but that makes it a atronger tank. And remember, the pakistani UD went up to 11.0 in this very same patch that moved standard UD up to 10.7.
