• Gun Elevation/Depression:
• Maximum Elevation: +68°
• Minimum Depression: -3°
• Horizontal Drive: Hydraulic-electric traverse system with manual backup
• Vertical Drive: Electro-hydraulic system for elevation and depression control

Fire Control System and Targeting

The 2S19 Msta-S is equipped with an advanced fire control system, which includes:
• Laser Rangefinder: Provides precise distance measurements for improved targeting accuracy.
• Automatic Gun-Laying System: Enhances reaction time and reduces crew workload.
• Ballistic Computer: Computes optimal firing solutions for both direct and indirect fire.
• GPS/GLONASS Navigation: Improves mobility and target coordination for more accurate engagements.

Armor Protection:

The 2S19 is designed with steel armor to provide protection against small arms fire, shell fragments, and some light anti-tank weapons.
• Hull Armor:
• Front: 15-20mm of steel armor, angled for increased protection
• Sides: 15mm of steel armor
• Rear: 8-10mm of steel armor
• Top: 8mm of steel armor
• Turret Armor:
• Front: 20-25mm of steel armor, resistant to small arms and shell splinters
• Sides and Rear: 15mm of steel armor
• Roof: 10mm of steel armor

Additional Protection Systems:
• NBC Protection: Features a nuclear, biological, and chemical (NBC) protection system with overpressure to safeguard the crew in contaminated environments.
• Smoke Dischargers: Equipped with 902B Tucha smoke grenade launchers for battlefield concealment.
• Spall Liners: Partial protection against internal fragmentation caused by hits.

Deployment and Combat Use

The 2S19 has been extensively deployed in Russian military operations, including in Chechnya, Syria, and Ukraine. Modernized variants such as the 2S19M2 feature upgraded electronics, an increased fire rate, and compatibility with the Krasnopol laser-guided shell for precision strikes. The 2S19 is considered an effective and flexible platform for both conventional and asymmetrical warfare scenarios.

As You can see Gaijin did not only nerf both versions in game they flat out won’t give it stuff it uses and not having a laser rangefinder at 7.3 which the PZH 2000(7.7) does as well as No Gunner Thermals which it has in real life as well as Night vision. This clearly proves that gaijin didn’t do any proper things with the 2s19. And I could understand no Rocket propelled rounds, for balancing, but it should still have its proper stuff

Obviously you don’t need to worry about Range of the tank but still focus on the rounds, and stuff that does matter in war thunder

Jane’s Armor and Artillery book, some Russian export site : https://roe.ru/en/production/sukhoputnye-voyska/?PAGEN_2=3

And this below

2S19 Msta-S Self-Propelled Howitzer.” Army Technology, 2024.
• Army Technology, a reputable defense platform, states that the modernized 2S19M2 version maintains the 40°/s traverse speed, enabling faster engagement times.

And if you are wondering if the tank will get changed probably not because gaijin wants a user manual which none of us will get our hands on unless you use one of these

“No, it hasn’t” great grammar. The 2S19M2 features a new automatic fire control system (ASUNO) that incorporates thermal imaging for target acquisition and fire correction.

The fact that they added this with NO LRF and no spall liners at 7.3 is a crime. In this state it should be 7.0 or 6.7.

If they give it its correct equipment then it could go to to 7.7 (the M2 model at least)

The M1 is fine to have no Laser Rangefinder because it was a modification and some of them had it but the M2 and up all have thermals and Laser rangefinder

I don’t know if gaijin will keep saying i need a user manual if they do, then I can’t because that’s classified information on a tank which if provided(meaning even if I had it) they would probably ignore it

I think that was not the same vehicle. It said 2S19 using 155mm shells, then this website doesn’t show exactly has such ability, like other report respond said that all of these reports show the M2 we have is different

How exactly? The Type 99 is also 7.3 without these features.

With thermals and LRF it should move to 8.0.

I could double check the shell size but still all models of the 2s19 after the M1 had laser rangerfinder and thermals now, if they don’t wanna add the 40° a second they can add 20° and that would be fine because there is manual override for turret traverse speed. I will get back to you on this.

Yes you are correct the 2s19 on that says 155 The export model is still the same tank and Still an m1 but it is fitted with a L/52 155mm cannon instead of the 152mm but they both use the same Fire control systems and general systems.

Sure

Only 2S19M1-155 have thermal and LD.

Sure…

Instead of the 2S19M1/M2 Gaijin added the 2S35 instead would be a great addition as a 8.0 or even 8.7 vehicle, adding the 2S35 152,4 mm to the tech tree and the 2S35 155 mm as a squadron.
