The 2S19M2 thermal imager is integrated with the Gunner/Targeting sight. It’s not like gaijin will listen anyways, it took them forever to fix the Hstv-l and it’s still not fully fixed
gonna need some more concrete evidence than big books of tanks and artillery. WT works on as many declassified documents, real photos and dimensions as possible.
I do get the feeling that the 2s19 has some missing stuff too however as I don’t speak Russian I cant really research it well. I had the same issue trying to research the Mobarez tank as I cant speak Farsi
I will provide more sources but in my area it’s quite hard to get I don’t know Russian Sources. Especially from the government. So when I get a chance I will provide you with more sources, so you can look at them. :)
I do love a military document. Most of my reading nowadays is of user handbooks and training manuals of IFVs of the years gone by
Oh btw The M1 never had Laser rangefinder when it first came out as far as I see but the Russian army upgraded it to have it. Talking the 152mm not the NATO standard 155mm that is an export version meant for the Middle East. But The m2 Did have it and thermal imager. I will provide More “Concrete” sources soon
Gaijin really wants me to leak Classified Russian Documents at this point because they don’t let you use Foreign Sources even if they are from Governments or Militaries.
Edit: I don’t process any classified documents or information
gaijin does NOT want classified documents. I honestly feel bad for their legal team with how autistic players can get with documents, I should know as I’m one of the document autists. they must always be scared when a non tech moderator pulls out a new source when the user isn’t in one of the document and research discord servers with the tech mods. such stresses I hope pays well
I wasn’t serious about that but it’s tough to find stuff in Russian or Soviet era equipment if it’s tanks or planes due to them being mostly military and state secrets
well most of them are still in active service in russias little SMO. stuff tends to only be declassified once it doesn’t threaten the safety of soldiers as that kit is retired and ok to be analysed for historical documentation
Exactly there still in service, the only shit I can find on the 2S19M1/2 that isn’t from foreign or Wikipedia is a News article From TAS(Russian State Owned News) about them fielding the New 2S19M2 which has a new system called ASUNO-M, which I listed earlier, I don’t know Russian, Ukrainian, Or Belarusian.
1990 that’s quite old yeah? That’s for the first model of the 2S19
It remains to provide evidence of a faster traverse… And LD+thermal.
That’s ok then I fine with it at a higher br
Very interested in this thread. At the very least, some better HEAT shells would be nice.
I would definitely love if one of the 2s19 got a laser rangefinder because the only difference between the 2 is that one has a 7.1 second reload and one has a 6.0 second reload
Yo know I could have given you more concrete evidence, but some of the Sources from the Russian government are no longer on the internet, they have been taken down so yeah
Rostec delivered the first batch of new Msta-S howitzers to the troops:
The modernized version of the howitzer is equipped with an automated fire control and aiming system.
As part of fulfilling the 2023 state defense order, Rostec delivered to the Russian Ministry of Defense the first batch of new 2S19M1 Msta-S self-propelled artillery systems. The modernized version of the howitzer is fitted with the automated fire control and aiming system (ASUNO), which allows it to fire at targets around the clock and in all weather conditions.
ASUNO provides autonomous determination of current coordinates and automatic calculation of firing data for indirect fire, as well as execution of counter-battery maneuvers. The gun’s aiming and realignment after firing are performed automatically, which not only significantly improves time and accuracy but also eases the gunner’s work. Automation of the loading process, along with the automatic selection of shell type and ejection of spent casings, reduces the physical workload of the crew and ensures a firing rate of up to eight rounds per minute using onboard ammunition.
“We have delivered to the Ministry of Defense a batch of new modernized 2S19M1 Msta-S artillery systems, created under the 2023 state defense order. This is effective and modern equipment, in demand by the troops. All combat vehicles passed endurance and live-fire testing at the range, factory inspections of all systems, and acceptance checks by the customer before delivery. The howitzers have now been loaded onto transport trailers and sent to their permanent deployment sites,” said Bekhan Ozdoev, Industrial Director of Rostec’s weapons, ammunition, and special chemistry cluster.
The 152-mm self-propelled artillery system Msta-S is designed to destroy artillery batteries, tanks, armored personnel carriers, fortifications, suppress command posts and communication nodes, and eliminate enemy manpower, firepower, and rear-area facilities.
The 2S19 Msta-S self-propelled howitzer has several unique tactical and technical features, including high rate of fire, the ability to use various types of shells, and rapid deployment and withdrawal from firing positions.
Today, the Msta-S is considered one of the best self-propelled howitzers in the world and has undergone several levels of modernization.
The Asuno fire control system comes with built in laser rangefinder and thermal scopes “ Russia’s Uralvagonzavod (UVZ: a subsidiary of state corporation Rostec) has upgraded its STANAG-compatible 2S19M1 Msta-S self-propelled howitzer (SPH), a spokesperson for Rostec told Jane’s on 25 March.
“The modernised 2S19M1 has received a fully automated fire-control system, which can receive target data from an Orlan-10 tactical unmanned aerial vehicle. The organic 840hp engine has been replaced by an engine with a power output of 1,000hp,” the spokesperson said, adding that the modernisation has brought the SPH’s manoeuvrability “to the level of a main battle tank”.
The upgraded artillery system has received a satellite navigation unit, improved ballistic computer, and thermal imager coupled to a laser rangefinder.”
And I Have sent Rostec.Ru an email about their 2S19M1 system I doubt I will get a response but if I do it would be great to find out if they can provide their point of view on things
pzh with lrf is just 7.7
hey any news on this getting implemented?
