15ª Squadriglia “La Disperata” coats of arms.

History.

The squadron was born in the First World War out of necessity to bomb the Austro-Hungarian units and their infrastructures present within and beyond the Alpine front. After the war the squadron was maintained and expanded and participated both in the Italian campaign in Abyssinia and in the Second World War, and as the conflict continued the squadron was disbanded after losing all the aircraft and the disbanding of the remaining airmen.

The coats of arms.

The squadron’s coat of arms is represented by a skull with two crossed bones behind it. Above the skull is the writing “83 Sq.” (only in the fighter units), and below the skull is the writing “La Disperata”.
