Me and @kizvy. We reached the conclusion that the su-27 reliably beats the F-16 block10 by forcing the 2C fight, nevermind the block15.
And when I say forcing the 2C fight I meant that the F-16 doesn’t have any other option with any counter 2C strategy because their performance in 1C are roughly equivalent, in a horizontal or downward 1C the flanker has an advantage because of high AoA at slow speeds, while in a vertical scisors for example, the F-16 block10 still has a slight advantage. But the flanker doesn’t need to take such a fight, easier thing is to just to start the 2C right off the first turn and adjust it if the F-16 tries to offset the rate fight.
The F-16 also has virtually no chance to achieve an overshoot since the flanker has the ability to pull AoA at command. So when losing the ratefight, the F-16 is cooked.

Yeah the AoA toggle is insane. But I use psychological warfare to bait flankers to cobra or pull insane AoA and then fly away to gain more speed. While they struggle to not hit the ground, I come in and brrrt. That’s the only way I found to kill flankers, especially after their recent FM buff.

That sounds more like impatient and low-skilled flanker pilots, which is the majority. If you outskill them and manage to avoid R-73s up your engine, you still have decent chances to run away or even win after looping around in a vertical. (though without a team the su-27 will catch you again)
But the thing is that with R-27ER (or any SARH missile) the F-16A will have to start a merge by giving his flank which is a very bad start, that or you start with your enemy diving on top of you. Either way your enemy has a very easy job to lag pursuit you.
I would even feel confident in a mig29 vs the f-16a provided I have SARHs to force them into a disadvantageous position

Most battles are won from the start, and in most cases you’re right that SARH at the beginning can lead to an f16 being in a bad spot.
I had some late game 1v1s with the old flanker vs F-16/gripen/F-2 and none survived the high altitude R-27ER spam after 2-3 missiles. I only have to climb to 5000m and keep them dancing around the ground but eventually they get bad RNG with splash damage

yea thats the whole problem you are a sitting duck until youre in 4km range if you survive multiple sarh and arh launched your way, atleast with the mirage2000s4 i have a fighting chance because of the 530ds
