GNSS + DL from an aesa radar is much better than from PESA without GNSS.
It’s one of the reasons why the 15C GE is being used more in training with the new tournament lineup
there is not a single air based aesa radar in the game they are all modeled has pesa
The main difference between aesa and PESA radars from my experience is that PESA radars have terrible scan elevation, which limits your awareness a lot compared to AESA.
This is a pattern I observed, not necessarily a true difference between the two radar types
8 degree vertical scan is significantly worse than the minimum of 20 degrees of an aesa radar

Ofc with faster radar (like RL aesa) you can get a full radar limit view ±70° x ±70° in the same time it would take a mechanical radar to just update a small 30°x30° window
It most likely is just the radar configurations, still it is a pattern I have noticed ingame so I go with it.
You are forgetting that the F-18A climbs faster due to better acceleration, and up there it will match similar speeds to the phantom.
The F-18A is not that big of a problem and shouldn’t go up in BR right now with the insane state of BR compression in the 12.3-13.7 zone

Of course, with decompression. Without it, it doesn’t make sense to move it to 12.7
which leads to the funny fact that the tws on the f15ge (and all the other American top tier esa radars )
is actually pretty ass compered the tws on the f15c/f15e IF it wasn’t for the esa update scan
on the widest setting the f15 ge needs 5.75 seconds for a single scan while the scan time for the f15c is just 1.7 seconds at most no matter the mode (despite the scan speed on the ge being a bit over twice has fast)
and the absolute bottom being the Rafal thales radar which needs almost 8 seconds for its widest scan setting
oh, btw. F-18 is overperforming, it has no channel loss when it should have. Artificially increasing thrust.
Just an example of how not just Russia has “artificial” assistance for their aircraft

After my experience with the swiss ARH hornet im not looking forward to super hornet one bit, so its surprising to hear someone does better on it than on F-15.
by a very small margin, the hornet’s speed doesn’t let me overpush as easily. It being slow also helps in dfs because people constantly merge at mach 1 so I can just button and lmb
