Everyone here knows what i mean by one sided, swarms of premium vehicles from USSR and US are one if not the most annoying thing in the entire game.
The US is really hand held on this BR thanks to the heavily unfair CAS, they can get fire and forget missiles like the mavericks on the A-10 early and GBU’s on the A-6E TRAM starting at the comfortable BR of 10.0 (also both of them can become unreachable by SPAA and can bully the living hell out of fighters thanks to their ability to carry 9L’s) meanwhile other nations still uses dumb bombs and rockets (and the ones who can get them are restricted to get 2 or 3 meanwhile the US and USSR can carry 6 or 8 fire and forget or laser guided ordinance)
In my personal opinion i cant even counter the CAS with SAM platforms since most of my SPAA are IR or very gimped SACLOS platforms like the rolands but that will be useless since the max range of the rolands are barely even 8KM meanwhile mavericks can be launched as far as 23KM where every single CAS is just floating is space.
I think it’s fair eught, you don’t need guided armament on Su-25 with these huge unguided missiles, basicly if you shoot it around a tank it’s 99% get destroyed, and don’t forget Russian Su-25 or MiG-27 is way faster then A-10, I can agree US is a bit better but these planes are relatively easy to kill with a Gepard or with a FlaRakPZ like tanks, and don’t forget Russian helicopters, in 10.7 you can find the Mi-35 or in 9.7 the Mi-24P which is very good and can carry 8 AGM too.
dont forget that he is talking about 10.3 not 11.0, so keep in mind that the mig 27m is the same br as the f4e, btw the us also have the a7s which are as “fast” as the su 25s
Yes the F-4F haves them too and they’re amazing, keep in mind that the A-10 carries 6 of them and you cannot evade them if they’re being fired from above.
If you are talking in terms of the German F4F… those are IR guided. NONE of the ones on the A-10A are IR. They are TV guided, and will barely lock onto anything at 6km let alone they are useless at your stated
23 is their effective range, not the range you can lock, fire and guarentee a kill. The TV guided wont even be worth their weight in feces at any distance.
Lemme just say first, I am not saying Mavericks are awful in any way, they are very good, however the TV versions bring up complaints of mine. Thus, your statement statement is correct but needs more clarity
Clouds? Yep forget your ability to launch them further than 4km away (at that range radar SAMs will eat a slow moving target like you fore breakfast, and because clouds are rendered client side, IR SAMs will sometimes get random locks on you through clouds, looking at you Strela players)
Too many trees? Yeah there goes your vehicle tracking
Too dark outside? Yep you lose tracking there too
Target drove behind a building? Yep lost tracking there too
Target popped smoke? Wish your kill goodbye, cause the missile is gonna lose track and probably explode midair (unlike certain KH-version missiles which stay on last known position and still have enough TNT mass to kill you without a direct hit)
So yes, 6 fire-and-forget missiles at 10.3 is extremely powerful… when the circumstances are good enough
However, considering if you play 5 matches at 10.3, at least 3 of those are probably gonna be not ideal weather for them, for some reason, and you’ll be forced to play the A-10 in a non-ideal way.
And being Mavericks, the curse of them not doing any damage still exists, albeit significantly less so than it was 6~ or more months ago.
Mavericks, on paper, are absolutely phenomenal. Now actually put them to use more than a game a day and you might understand why they aren’t as strong as people make them out to be.
I rarely die from mavericks or any CAS in general. When I do see one, they are easy to dodge unless im already pinned down, but then again its super rare.
Mavericks in-game are also phenomenal and I have had little to no issues ever using them BEFORE they received the damage buff. You also forgot to note that you can launch mavericks from outside of vehicle track range and so long as the vehicle has remained there or moved little then it can acquire a tracking lock once it gets in range.
The A-10 with six mavericks is six very easy kills right now with the added benefit of being able stay at stand-off range. So…
Now actually put them to use more than a game a day and you might understand why they aren’t as strong as people make them out to be.
Is nonsense since I run it frequently in my 10.3 line-up. I suspect you’re trying to downplay it’s effectiveness here for ulterior reasons though. I’d say it is by far the strongest CAS plane in the game at 10.3 for GRB, no other 10.3 can bring that quantity of long range ordnance. Especially not FnF.
10.3 is just the old 10.0. Tech trees just need more filling.
You could put some sort of Abrams proto or preproduction run at 10.3 if it exists, Leo 2A0 etc.
Gaijin are just allergic to adding Cold War vehicles it seems unless they can copy paste them 8 times into different trees to fill gaps (cough OSA cough).
