+ 1 - 1 Uptier/Downtier is too much

The Uptier/Downtier range is too big, there’s literally too much of a technological diference between vehicles 1 tier up or down, exemple 8.3 to 9.3 ammo / armour diference is gigantic with 9.3 apfsd, LRF/Gen1 Thermals, ERA/Composite, against the 8.3 heavly upgraded shitboxes, not to mention lower tiers where if you got uptiered, some tanks become upennable

This is exclusively due to 2.7 compression that is causing a minority of tanks to be over-BR’d all the way up to 6.0.
The majority of tanks are not impacted thankfully, but for those that are impacted it is an issue if you like those tanks.

Both sides have 9.3 on their team, and if you’re 8.3 know your strengths and the enemies’ weaknesses, and use your team mates effectively.

Yeah. reducing it to a 0.7 +/- uptier would fix about 90% of compression issues imo. The gap in performance between 2 vehicles 1.0 apart is simply too extreme.

That is the difference between the Phantom FGR2 with 9Gs and Skyflash DFs and Phantom F4F ICE with Aim-9Li and Aim-120. these 2 aircraft should never see each other. But the required amount decompression might cause more issues than it would resolve and may not even be possible.

the solution is decompression, sure reducing the the uptier/downtier BR difference from 1.0 to 0.7 would fix some of the current issues but it just makes it harder to get decompression in the future, as there is less range that tanks have to be different,

in theory the bigger the uptier/downtier range the better, but only with an even bigger total decompression, as that leaves room for every vehicle that has differences to another vehicle to be at its own unique BR, as the only vehicles that are truly equal are copy paste vehicles

Only at higher tiers IMO. Up to… About 8.0ish? Maybe 7.7? Its a lot closer.

Eh maybe 7.0 and below, it starts stretching at 7.0 though doesnt become noticably insane until 8.0.

Anyway, WW2 tiers the compression is fine IMO. the the difference isnt massive between BR steps. Heck, look at the difference in some planes especially for example, the only thing that makes a plane 0.3 higher than its predecessor is a slightly more powerful engine

Heck the A6M5 Mod22 Ko has an entire 0.7 jump for identical flight performance to the Mod22, but going from the Type 99 Mod 1 cannon to the Mod 2 cannon (with slightly better ballistics and slightly better belts)

Anyway I digress. I dont disagree that the performance jumps at higher tiers between 1.0 can be pretty big, but I dont see the need to decompress anything below 7.0 at this stage.

fun fact made a suggestion for this and i still havent heard back it was a month ago

it was for reduction of uptiers of all modes as .7

great things could happen F-4J 12.0s vs 13.0 SU33 is by no means fair for all the russian cope in the world at worst with the .7 change youd fight a mig 29 or F16 which is a way easier fight

this is also a far more permanent fix than raising BRs as adding a new br will just get compressed again but .7s are the best for everyone

There’s a saying in Brazil that sums up your idea, look: ‘trading six for half a dozen.’, snail’s balancing system is already perfect, they just don’t want to balance the game. Even if the range of the brackets was changed from 1.0 to 0.7 (+/-), it would still be terrible because Snail’s goal is to compress everything. And since we’re talking about the Snail, I wouldn’t be surprised if it got even worse with this change.

It’s not the uptirr amount that’s the issue. Brs are simply too compressed.
