0.7 BR spread compression not only requires ALL the work of decompression [analyzing all vehicles in the game and changing BRs to be balanced under a new compressed matchmaker], it makes it more difficult to balance vehicles as well.
Just push for decompression, there’s already been 1.3 - 2 BRs of decompression in 3 - 4 years, just gotta push for the final few BRs as most BRs are fine.
It takes absolutely no work… at all minus EDITING one line of code. And decompression wouldn’t need to be done since what you see in matches would be a less of a difference in varying vehicles. Thus allowing those that need an actual BR change to happen. Prime example for ground, 6.7… none of those vehicles should be seeing 7.7, it’s one of the worst BRs to be full up tiered in. For ARB 12.0 is a prime example, F4’s or Mirage should not see the likes of something with Fox 3’s, which is an argument that been said far too many times, but you switch that to .7 and you’d be on an actual level playing field.
.7+/- fits their wacked out BR system as well across the board. Waiting another 3-4 years for another decompression of maybe .7-1.0 more just for them to have to alter 65% of the tree without the addition of anything new below 10.0BR, you’re just doing more work to do the same thing .7 would do with far less work and less brain power needed to do it.
“It takes no work” to destroy the game and lose the entire playerbase with a review bombing like no other.
You do not haphazardly make changes without putting in the work.
6.7 is one of the healthiest BRs in the game, and 7.7s are a struggle but no where close to impossible to deal with. IS-4s can be won against in M26s when played well.
Either way decompression is better and requires less work.
Focus on decompression and stop trying to take shortcuts that’d ruin game balance and cause more compression in the long run. Foresight is not hard in this situation.
± 0.3 better
Another one of these terrible threads.
You’ve made even dumber counterargument dawg.
Use the thread that was made less than 20 hours ago ffs.
You know this… how?
NO.
X.3 vehicles would never see X.7 vehicles with ± 0.3 BR spread, because highest X.3 vehicles could see with 0.3 BR would be X.6 BR and theres no such thing in game. X.3 BR vehicles would only fight either other X.3 or X.0 downtiers, becoming the new meta.
Similiarly, X.7 vehicles could never see a downtier, since lowest they could see with ± 0.3 BR would be X.4 and theres no such thing in game, meaning these would exclusively fight either other X.7 vehicles or X.0 uptiers, meaning these would become much less attractive.
It can work better than the current, if GJ actually tried to use it correctly.
It can work if you place vehicles too crap to uptier even 0.3 , and not a danger for everyone even in downtiers ex. F-4C.
There you can put the vehicles that there is a problem when they down tier , but none at all if they uptier one click.
F-14s , 23ML/MLD/MLA. And even in uptier they will fair better than 1.0 or even 0,7 BR spread.
Problem is , even if GJ did something like this… they wouldn’t use it like this.
Practically everything can work one way or another, if you make it in order to work good.
Absolut balance can’t be done anyway, except if everyone plays the same vehicle with the same mods and same loadout
But anything -even the current 1.0 spread can work with enough decompression.
They don’t want to do it. They don’t want to fix it. They believe it is fine the way it is, that’s the irony.
To the matter , a 0,7 +/- spread would work with very minor BR tuning for the vehicles . They can even just make it tomorrow, don’t change anything and it would still be 300% better than the current.
that is once again a lie
Me when I make a detailed and factual argument supporting my point (real)
Well mate, there is a threat with around 500 responses on just this topic where I debunked that claim at least 50 times just for him and spend quite literally 20h in 2 weeks explaining and calculating how and why he is wrong.
He choose to ignore all that and is now continuing to say stuff he has to know is wrong.
Which we call a lie.
Sorry that you do not know that histroy, but the topic can still be found by googling as it is the largest threat on the topic.
the TLDR of that entire disxussion:
0.7 MM is equal to a BR decompression to 15.7 with the only difference being that 15.7 offers gaps which Gaijin can fill in later if they feel like it, but requires moving around 90% of vehicles, whereas 0.7 MM would require no more than a single line in the MM to be changed, but does still require gaijin to occasionally increase the BR range.
if men join the discussion and say something about it, I also don’t like that when playing tanks they play at BR 1.7 and I meet vehicles at very high BR. It should be vehicles in battles with the same BR or maybe br 1.3 - 1.7. and not that you meet vehicles at BR 2.3 which are a little better. I also don’t like this nonsense. The game is not balanced. And about maps according to BR, it’s also nonsense. Who enjoys playing the same maps 10 times in a row? It stops being fun when everything repeats itself.
Reducing the BR spread or a decompression makes the game more balanced and not worse.
Decompression takes a lot of work.
First you need to know where many extra steps you want to add.
Second you need to know which BR-ranges you want to decompress.
After that you need to check every affected vehicle if its BR change is still balanced.
A simple BR change for 0.8 removes only the ±1.0 Br cases and therefore is a decompression/balancing for every vehicle.
Facing a +1 Br tank is not balanced, period.
