It wouldn’t. It would preform as a slightly less penning apds. And by slightly I mean by like 2 if that

Thermals, some radar tracking possibility.
It’s in the name. Frangible. It’ll shatter on everything at every angle because that’s what it’s designed to do. It’ll completely shred aircraft but do nothing against anything with armour.
Wrong flag
I am currently working on the thermals, as despite finding primary source, tech mod decided to reject it.

Kept the same sabot as the apds but with the added shrapnel. Also just ignore the whole apds in the name lmao literally armour piercing.
It’ll be peak to see :3
don’t forget the steering angle fix

How the ZA-35 radar should fold.
Unfortunately we don’t have variable radar heights. Should automatically change with the current range setting.
It did not rely on range settings, it was operaten in lower position while moving through tree rich areas, in oreder to minimize possible damage.
Did it not affect the max range at all?

Basically identical rounds in everyway. Only way it would end up worse is you don’t get funni Aphe moments but you have 640 rounds of apds
I’m surprised the cheetah hasn’t been added yet tbh
Now i have remade the report with ALL the sources i have.
Wall of text warning
ZA-35 should have gunner TVD
It shouldnt affect max range at all just due to the radar’s power, and the fact aircraft don’t tend to be a threat on the ground
Its power limited, not horison limited like naval search radars and some air radars
Nope.
The ingame APDS-T (DM 23) is not TLD-049 (PMD-049) but TLD-038, which has a lower muzzle-velocity, different sabot and features a solid 294g tungsten core. TLD-049 features a additional nosecap made out of some lower density material and as such also a different core.
FAPDS (TLD/PMD-055) has comparable first-plate penetration to TLD-038.
cant remember what I made this for initially but I might aswell re-use it:
Not sure what the penetrator mass of TLD-049 is. The mass including the sabot is identical to TLD-038, i.e. 380g.
No.
The core is designed to break apart gradually after penetration to increase fragmentation and (due to the use of aluminium for bonding) incendiary effects. It is however not going to shatter upon impact at high obliquity like ingame HVAP/APCR does for example (It’s also literally designed around dealing with target-arrays consisting out of several platings)
The 35mm FAPDS penetrator itself features a pusher-plate which’s sole purpose is to essentially shove whatever is infront of it forward during the initial penetration process, while not being frangible itself, which results in comparable, to identical (depending on the specific shell) first-plate penetration as APDS/-T.
Example of a TNO 35mm FAPDS penetrator (the 25mm FAPDS doesnt feature this pusher-plate btw, making its’ penetration comparatively worse)
Spoiler: Excerpt from dutch article on FAPDS

“The high penetration power is comparable to the APDS from which the new ammunition is derived.”
Comparison of the penetration of 25x137 APDS-T (TLB/PMB 044) and 25x137 FAPDS-T (PMB 098)
PMB 044 APDS-T - 25mm RHA, 1000m, @ 60° NATO
PMB 098 FAPDS-T - 25mm RHA, 1000m, @ 60° NATO
I have figures for a polish 35mm FAPDS-T penetrator, however take it with a grain of salt as its’ design heavily differs from what the bundeswehr (and as such Gepard 1 A2) used:

Without considering the spacing between the platings, that is 56.57mm of LOS penetration at 1km
