Rubber is used in a lot of composite armor. It is especially good against chemical munitions, because rubber causes alot of friction to the point where it can slow or stop the HEAT stream.

I have no clue on its properties against solid shot. Probably similar, but the APFSDS preforms better against softer materials (at least I think) and struggles more against dense metals.

Anyway most composite armor (aside from the metal used in RHA) is a material that causes a lot of friction.

Regarding Serbia’s HQ-17AE, the display board data from the first picture shows that its target engagement range reaches 15 km, which should refer to the standard HQ-17AE missile’s range. The second picture indicates that the HQ-17AE can also launch a missile called the HQ-17AE/A, which likely features extended range and other performance enhancements. However, Serbia may not have purchased this upgraded missile, as its displayed range data differs from China’s specifications.

According to Chinese demonstrations, the HQ-17AE system possesses the capability to launch missiles while moving and can simultaneously guide four missiles to strike four different targets. Its operational range extends up to 30 km (likely when equipped with the HQ-17AE/A missile).

As seen in the third picture, the HQ-17AE is equipped with a hydro-pneumatic suspension system (oil-gas suspension), which enhances mobility and stability on rough terrain

M55S

My hopes for a Yugo tech tree are growing smaller every day.

Lets hope the leak is wrong and we see it some other time in a new tech tree.

Damn. Our M-55S should under no circumstances be in the USSR TT.
It goes either in the Yugo tree or wherever Ukraine goes (not USSR)

Everything is possible in future, we have 3 merkavas plus magach in US and shot in British tt, and only after that we got israel. This is only relevant if M-55S is prem/event

Weren’t some of the French and Italian planes in the UK/German TT or were they all premiums?

it’s true they are tt

I find it confusing M55 does not have “S” at the end. Since it is M-55S

It is possible for Yugoslavia to still be added, but before the dissolution.

That means that the cutoff point for equipment may be the start of the Slovenian War of Independence 27 June 1991.

The M-55S is a Slovenian tank and not a Yugoslav tank.

Isn’t the m55 a howitzer?

It is a US Howitzer, however after a quick search it was never captured or purchased by the USSR, Vietnam or any Warsaw Pact state.

Why would it be limited to 1991?

Because, if they are adding a separate Slovenian tank to USSR, that means they cant be adding independent Yugo state vehicles in under Yugoslavia. I may be wrong, but it is logical.

Besides, JNA was fighting against nearly all independent states of the former Yugoslavia, so it makes sense for Yugoslavia to face independent Yugo states.

M55 is a howitzer yes. M-55S was Slovene upgrade of T-55 with the help of Israel.
