I have seen videos where it has been done, and if it has not been patched yet, it means you can fulfill the same job as 12.7 SPAAs but with laser guided ones.
You can thus engage multiple targets, missiles/GBUs, but most importantly, you can also engage helicopters equipped with IRCM, as the SPAAs are laser guided (something 12.7 SPAAs cannot do).
It gives a significant advantage to Russia/China. Why are NATO top tier SPAAs not able to use the same kind of technology ingame ?
You can engage, but not shot down. Now SPAAs are useless.

IRL, these systems we have in game are much more powerful, they would counter helis no problem, it is in game implementation that makes them perform poorly.
If the heli pilot is smart and not hovering out in open, SACLOS SAMs aren’t doing much to helis either
No because when yo start spammiing 16 F&F Hellfire missiles I have no time to even look at one pixel of your rotor that popped out and have to engage the spam you just launched at me. Even if I do manage to launch at you, if you are low enough you can get away from the radar and ALWAYS escape the missile. Very rarely the missile follows through and hits you which is probably a bug anyway but yeah. Change your tactics first would be my advice
