Yak-130

Why does the Yak-130 only have 4 of it’s 8 hardpoints accessible?

The outer pylons are only wired for R-73’s.
And R-73’s would put the Yak in a much worse position, only subsonic without even countermeasures or an RWR

Okay I can understand that. They could put R-60’s on it at least. Hell even the A-4 at 8.7 has aim-9B’s which is better than nothing. It should at least have it’s other hard points for use though.

I would rather the CM pods on the outer wingtips over AAMs and even R-60s would result in a BR increase as for all their issues they are still a 30g missile and a guaranteed kill against anybody without flares, the only thing below 10.0 with them is the Yak-38 and that thing has more than a few issues to off set them… like having the FM of an F-104 while being sub-sonic.
There is also the Yak-130M that just went into service that can be added with better weapons at higher BRs.
There is also the Yak-131 ground attacker, but I’m not sure what’s happening with it, it got canceled then restarted or something, so I have no idea if it qualifies to be added currently.

This grind is painful. It has no way to protect itself

What people call the Yak-131 is just an early modernisation of the Yak-130, Yak-131 isn’t really a real designation.

And that modernisation process eventually became the Yak-130M.

I don’t think the BR increase would be worth it though, look at the Thai Alpha jet A Vs the TH, it goes from 9.0 tp 10.7 just from getting AIM-9P-4s.
There is also the matter of it being introduced to cover a gap in Russians CAS capabilities in ground battles, I doubt Gaijin wants to add capabilities that would put it up to BRs where the Su-25s already have that covered.
If it proves to be too bad in air they can lower it’s ARB BR, that is why they split the BRs.

Oh OK I got the impression that the 131 was a separate dedicated ground attack variant, while the 130M was improvements on the original platform.

but the yak has countermeasures irl?

Well I guess I can always hope for an upgraded tech tree version. I sometimes like to fly the underdog if you will. I love A-4s specifically for that reason. I wish they would put the A-4M in the US tech tree.

yeah, having to play Israel for a good A-4 is the suck.

yes, they have pods that attach to the wing tip rails, Gaijin left them off along with the R-73s to keep the BR down, while I understand the R-73s I think leaving the CMs off was a bit much.

Yeah the Yak-130 implementation makes zero sense but gaijooble is gaijooble

That’s the Yak-130M

Base Yak-130s can bring the same pod. Yak-130 should get its CM/ECM pod without the ECM functionality and that should allow gaijin to place it 0.3 BR higher.

In theory, but the pod didn’t exist until the Yak-130 (Improved) and Yak-130M, so the build they’re going with is that initial one

Rather have the 9.3 CAS tbh

It’s not. All the devs said is quote ‘we don’t plan to add x thing to the Yak-130’

What’s the point of having 4 TV guided bombs at 9.3? Give it CMs and move it to 9.7.
Gaijin can also consider adding the ECM functionality and R-60M, that will allow gaijin to give it 10.0+ BR.

The initial Yak-130

Fills a gap in CAS for the 9.3 lineup

It can’t carry R-60M’s. Pretty sure they don’t even manufacture the pylons for them anymore

Other TTs dont have 4 TV guided bombs at this BR.

It’s overpowered for GRB in its place rn. The ground TV-guided ordnance should be reduced to two.
