The SPAA are generally fine where they are, the fact small caliber auto cannons do so much damage is another thing, doesn’t matter if it’s an AA or not.
He’d still get shot down , just at a higher BR.
I find it irritating going up against a Gepard, or type 87 in a 7.7 jet? yeah sure, but it ain’t that bad.
Making SPAA’s worse against aircraft (which in these examples they already are, given the cas player is not extremely incompetent) achieves absolutely nothing but to incentivise players to use them as TD’s even more.
Removing suitable AA options within tech trees, by moving them up for their AT performance (Which is barely going to be affected anyway) does not solve - but instead adds far more problems.
They’re too strong in both areas. Moving them up makes them weaker in both areas. It’s literally as simple as that. I wouldn’t be opposed to adding weaker SPAA at 8.3 to fill the gap. Things similar in capability to the M163 and Shilka.
Neither Shilka (4V) nor VADS are suitable replacements for gepard at 8.3.
Just because it is too difficult for you to not fly in a straight line or notice 1100rpm worth of tracers flying at you doesnt make them too strong for AA purposes, especially when considering that the majority of aircraft can easily outrange (refering to effective range) them.
On paper is the best on practis if you have ever use it the slower firerate bound with reload, and recoil ,lower damege if a shell pennetrate and no stab make it preaty unrelayable, unlike other aa tank destroyer
My super complot level tier speculaticion is in part for the damage against aircraft and in part for not nerfing the best seller tank of all time the Turm 3
