XM246 belt bug

I don’t much care for the bug reporting system gaijin offers as it’s more useless than helpful, but I just wanted to mention that the XM246 gets only one belt of ammo, and even worse is that if you choose DM-23 then all you get is 40 rds instead of the ~640 of the other belts, not that I’m vying for ~640 rds of DM-23, just getting it like it should be with the other 35mm Oerlikens.

its supposed to be like that, same as the gepards

Yeah,but no.

If you look closely, the ammoracks on the sides are technically (and it’s very stretched as a technically) for the DM23 belts.

Buuuut there’s no way in hell that those big ahh boxes contain 20 rounds. A 35mm round is,just like the name says, 35mm wide. Let’s say that between the rounds there’s a 5mm gap for the links.

20rds×35mm=700mm+(5mm×39 spaces)=895mm or 0.9 metres

As you can see,the boxes are way longer than 0.9metres and moreover the belt is not stretched but it’s S-shaped to use the space it has inside the box more efficiently.

So either the boxes are extremely bug for 20 rounds each or the vehicle needs way more than 40 rounds

And frankly, the XM246 deserves a full or at least half a full belt of the DM23. Imagine a line, where in the middle you put the Gepard and on the ends of said line you put the XM246 and the ZA-35

The Gepard is fast, but slower than the ZA-35,so it only gets 40 rounds of DM23. The ZA-35 is the fastest,so as a balancing tool it gets 0 DM23. This means,on the other hand, the XM246 is the slowest so it must have a half belt of DM23 (or at least 3× the amount of the Gepard)

Not, but yes, don’t trust the accuracy of internal modules made by Gaijin.

If the recent addition of the turret basket as the horizontal drive for the tanks is any indication of Gaijin’s accuracy with internal modules…

Yeah, it should be, but they don’t actually let you take 2 “separate” belts it’s either 640 APHE or 40 APDS lol

As far as I know, Gepard in real life doesn’t use DM23 bullets, but if Gepard has them, Xm246 should have them too because it’s just a Spaa and 40 bullets are not enough to shoot an entire match.

for the Gepard:

The KDA autocannon has a dual belt feed for two different ammunition types; the usual loading per gun is 320 AA rounds fed from inside the turret and 20 AP rounds fed from a small outlying storage. The 40 armour-piercing rounds are normally fired singly with the guns alternating; they are also intended for self defence against light armoured ground targets.
