The way this game operates like a casino should make gajin, by law, mark it as 21 and up. They won’t cause it’s easier to manipulate children into spending hundreds of dollars on what basically is a slightly better chance on the next hand, I mean match
Pretty sad to think about that there are so many games around who successfully use gambling mechanics and aren’t +18.
If you use such shady practices, then the your customer base should be limited to people 18 and above.
Looking at you shmokemon.
I mean even I spent more money on some new popular trading card game for mobile than I ever wanted.
How could younger people resist such temptation 😫
But I also did that with actual trading card games when I was young 😄
Luckily you only get junk in WT, most of the time so, so it’s pretty easy to stay away from these mechanics for me.
Might as well just play the Lotterie instead of trying to get an IS-7.
The loot boxes and now, auction house, should 100% make the game an 18+ experience. Its a “get around” clause to say “oh but you convert your real money into fake money to use” that should have been closed by governments over a decade ago.
Unless you have a sealed bid auction of course, which are arguably more akin to gambling then people would like to suggest as you are gambling if your bid is high enough or well above the rest.
There is also the other issue that you bid via gaijin coin, meaning you need to put your money in to be able to bid, this is a gamble in and of itself because you are gambling that you bought enough coin to buy it in the first place as there is no refund system.
When you think on it as “no country does it that way” do remember that the gambling lobby are putting millions if not billions across regions to keep it this way, very few countries actively fight gambling/currently not considered gambling lobbies effectively.
A common trope/loophole companies used to use was that their product which people are upset over isnt actually being sold, but given away for free when people bought something else.
In fact iirc some vape companies tried to use this ploy in the UK/other places in recent years to get their products to children, you couldnt sell them it, but you could give it to them for free if they subscribed to someone on social media for example. Was technically legal.
Companies like to try to use the loophole of “technically not part of the product” to get away with iffy stuff a lot, and shouldnt be given any energy.
Honestly I would love to see Infantry from WW2 and Modern day added to the game with all the cool small arms, Anti Tank weapons and Anti Air they could get…I know this will 99% never happen but a dream XD
